Question What is Dynamic contrast?

hi just bought this tv

the contrast is 1200:1 and dynamic is 6000:1, whats dynamic contrast?

Basically, dynamic contrast will adjust your TV's backlight according to light or dark scenes. I put it on "low" on my TV - when it gets too high the image doesn't look quite as good.

Regular contrast is better than dynamic.

Turn the dynamic contrast off, if you can. It artificially manipulates the image. You should be going for image stability and should perform a proper display calibration that gets the best black levels your TV is capable of producing without using the dynamic contrast.

As my calibrationist has told me on many occasions:

"Turn anything with the word "Dynamic" on it off on your display"
