I hear you. I constantly find myself playing with the TV and DVD settings to make the picture quality look better. Its like watching black and white TV again.

This should be a rule. From now on, if your going to have a thread title like this one put an asterisk beside it. I was ready to come in here guns blazing.

I was expecting a troll as well...

The title needs to be changed by a mod because it is a little misleading.

Standard DVD's are upconverted and while they are certainly not Blu quality, I can tolerate them. I just watched the new horror/ comedy "Black Sheep" last night on DVD and it was hilarious. Glad I didnt skip this one just because its not on Blu-ray. Don't limit yourself quite that much. Afterall, we are watching a movie to be entertained, not to be stay-at-home PQ critics

I hear you too. I have been watching Blu-ray movies for about a solid month without watching a dvd. I have seen most of my dvds a few times so I don't watch them often. But I put one in and could not stand watching it. I picture quality was ok for being upconverted but I can't get around the sound quality. I need to uncompressed audio. That bugs me the most. Not being able to hear all the sound that you know was there. I am thinking of getting rid of my DVDs. I only buy TV shows because I don't really care about not having the uncompress audio with them. Also they are becoming very cheap since the format war begun.

I got my ps3 back in April and got so into BD I realized about a month ago I hadn't watched a normal DVD since. So then I pulled out a great classic. Indiana Jones Trilogy. I barely made it through the trilogy despite the fact they are some of my favorite movies I kept noticing lack of clarity and overal lack of PQ. I don't think I'll watch another DVD anytime soon. LOL. unfotunately I have over 300 DVDs I guess I will just have to replace them all.

I definately agree with the guys above its like watching color and trying to go back to BW.

On a similiar note: I loved my Wii until I got my PS3. The graphics just suck on the Wii.
