Default Spider-Man Hi-Def Trilogy: One BIG Problem

According to todays review from HighDefDigest.com, the Spider-Man High Definition Trilogy lacks the abundant amount of extras found in the DVD releases of Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2. NONE of the supplements are in the high definition versions of the first two films. NONE. (On the full two-disc edition of the Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray available in the set, all [Spider-Man 3] supplements are intact like the stand-alone product.) To compensate, the Spider-Man 2 Blu-ray also includes the extended edition Spider-Man 2.1. Nevertheless, I really valued the extras on both the Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 releases, especially the commentary and blooper reels. What do you guys think? Is it worth buying the high-def trilogy without the supplements of the first two films or keep the original two films and purchase the third on DVD. I personally want the entire trilogy either on DVD or on Blu-ray. Which should I choose?

The Box set of the Spidey Blu ray will be def WORTH IT, Buy two just to stick to HD DUD and help spiderman outsell Transformers. The PQ an AQ of the movies will be Outstanding definately a must have. You can't beat the price either 20 bucks per movie EVERYONE SHOULD BE PICKING UP THIS TITLE, EVERYONE!!!

At least we knew that before hand. Not like that Jack Ryan snaffu. So Spider-man to IS the 2.1 extended edition? That's pretty cool at least.

The extras really don't mean that much to me so I am just going to get the box set. You probably won't see another boxset with all the extras unitl next year if even then.

I got my Spidey box a little early and have already watch all three. The HD transfers for 2 and 3 look great. Spidey 1 is not quite as sharp ans the second and third, but looks better than the DVD by a noticeable margin.

True, there are not special features on 1 and 2. Just the movies. No PCM audio either, by the way. The TrueHD tracks sound great, though.

One problem, and I posted this in the player forum, I had a Samsung 1400 when my shipment arrived and Spiderman 2 will not player past about 6 minutes. I returned the Samsung for a Sony and it plays fine.

With any luck if they do release another trilogy, they will offer a upgrade to those of us who bought this one.

Smile Spiderman Extras

Same here, I just buy the movie for the movie not the extras - the only extra I ever watched was the game they included with the Meet the Robinsons. Another awesome Blu-Ray movie!!!

It's both. When you select play, you get a choice to play Spiderman 2 or 2.1.

That's cool to me, I was a litted pissed when I realized that version existed, thinking it wouldn't be on the BD. As for the other extras I can live without them. I still have 1 and 2 on 2 disc DVD anyways.

I don't even look at the extras anymore so it makes no difference to me. I'll be at BB tomorrow to get my copy of the set

I dont buy movies for the extras I buy them only to see the actual movie in HD that is

no extras shouldnt be a big concern or selling point but if thats what floats your boat then stick with the dvd versons.

Not that bothered about the extras. If they're there it's ok but if not, meh. I'm only interested in the film having the best picture and audio. All 3 of the films have had an excellent transfer done (although the picture for Spiderman 1 has been resized for some reason). Haven't looked at any of the extras for Spiderman 3 (other than what was on the main disc) and probably won't until I'm bored and got nothing else to watch.

I couldnt care less about special features. But I do understand that some people do, and that sucks for them.

However the box set price is considerably less than the average price (29.99 in Canada each) for 3 BDs. The value alone makes me want to get the box.

Do whatever the heck you want. They are extras, so what. You get to watch a guy in spandex do flips attached to wires in front of a green screen. I can't wait to see that. Or you can hear the main players talk about what it was like to be the characters. I bet it was fun being Spider-man. I don't need extras. I only care about video and audio quality.

who cares about the supplements? its about the actual movie itself special features are minor details, you dont even see special features when you go to the theatre, this should not be make or break for people. buck up and help support blu-ray by buying the blu trilogy and crush the HD-DUD transformers sales (not that they didnt get beat in that week by us any way lol)
