Default Japanese Science-fiction Movies

Nothing would give me more pleasure than to see those Japanese science fiction movies of the 1950's and the very early 60's on Blu-ray. Most of those movies are cheesy, but I don't care, I just love them. Any thoughts on this, anyone?

I've never seen any of the japanese sci-fi's from that era, but I just love their culture and I'd definitely love to get me some japanese sci-fi!
Such unique creativity they have.

Thank you for your reply. The original Godzilla movie was made and produced in Japan. That is one of them. There was also one called Rodan (1956)...

By the way, would you know how I can get my profile picture loaded to appear below my user name? I tried it this morning, but it did not work. Any help, please... Thanks!

Both of these films, and others, are currently available on Blu-Ray.

Here's TOHO's site showing their current Blu-Rays:

We have a thread about Godzilla and other TOHO films being released on Blu-Ray here:

Check out the Classic Media release for Godzilla aka Gojira. I wouldn't spend $20 it though, I got my copy for $15.

Unless its remastered and released in Japan first, a US/Canada release is probably not likely.

To be honest I'm not very familiar on any big jpn sci-fi flicks. Their best, most imaginative stuff is mostly animated imho.

You may like Battleship Yamato...though that's brand new. Probably will hit bluray someday.
