Default Stargate

Wow,
I have seen MI3, Gone in 60 seconds, Eight Below and now Stargate with the panny player.

I can honestly say that Stargate is the best looking title I have ever displayed on my Ruby. Very crisp and sharp. Very 3-d like. Sound was awesome too.

Tomorrow night it's on to Ice Age 2

I always thought it looked good too... others didnt. I just got the Panny so I will have to see it again.

Thumbs up

I think Stargate sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving Day BD that I should be cracking open.

Default blu- Ray quality

I'm very disappointed in the quality of some of the titles ,i.e.,
X-Men was very grainy, not much better than the DVD, T2 &1 ,M3 was extremely grainy, i read on the forum where somebody said that Stargate was the best, totally disagree, parts of it maybe, but not most .I'll tell you what title surprisingly was superior, that was Unforgiven,it looks unbelievable and the flesh tones had the least amount of grain than any i've seen.Kingdom of Heaven looked amazing.I think my point here is let's keep the reviews coming so we can save each other the expense of being dupped with a bad BD conversion.By the way i just took back my Samsung Bd 1000,terrible.Picture ,load time, audio latency, plastic knobs,etc..,for the Panasonic, amazing machine, crisp clear pic & audio, great menu nav.Little bit more money but well worth it...

The grainy titles you've mentioned were shot that way, on 35mm film.
The Blu-ray release is being honest to the source.

Haven’t had those problems with my BD-P1000. Pic looks fantastic and load times are relatively quick. Maybe it has something to do with the firmware

Stargate was the cleanest and sharpest blu-ray title that I have watched thus far.

We saw Ice age 2 and it also looked amazing. Except for some minor banding in two sky scenes it was dang near perfect. Amazing stuff.

The first short film from the extras is incredible as well. The one part where he falls off the tree and looks up at it - just brilliant.
