Stargate BD - Blu-ray Forum

OK, I know we're beating the "Stargate" BD into the ground so deep it comes out of the other side of the earth (like China).
But can someone tell us how to identify the corrected and technologically unflawed BD version (with the human and alien subtitles fixed, yadda yadda yadda). I think we're supposed to look for certain UPC codes on the packaging.

Uh, whats wrong with it? I bought this a few months ago and haven't watched it yet. Whats supposedly wrong with the movie/disc?

Old version with no alien subtitle UPC 0 1223619155 1 50
New Version with fixed alien subtitle UPC 0 1223619155 1 80

So if it ends in 80 it has the english alien subtitles.

I thought you could just change the language, and there was one track with the right subtitles? That's how I got mine to work

This early effort is one of the worst looking BDs in my collection. Has it or will it be remastered at some point ?

Correct because alien subtitle (english #3 ) English #1 will not subtitle alien language. Lionsgate need use SDH feature so it will subtitle both at sametime and English #2 as sdh.

Thats the problem with all lionsgate movies. it goes same for saw 1-4 no sdh no background subtitle.

You could only see english track 3 with the fixed version ending in 80.
The version that ended in 50 had no english track 3. Only choice was subtitles on for the entire movie or off for the movie , but then no alien subtitles. 80 fixes all of this. I have both versions thats how I know and tested it

The UPC code is also a sticker that is on top of the original one. That will help to identify the "fix" version as well.

I was dissapointed with the PQ of this BD, too bad because i really like the movie.

Is there any relation between Stargate movie of 1994 and Stargate:Ark OF truth and Stargate:Continumm. Can someone help me out as I want to buy

Stargate was as bad a release as the first Fifth Element release. It does need a serious remastering before I even think of buying it. I do like the movie though.
