Default Ignore the trolls!!

The goal of a troll is to goat us all into making fun of him, countering his arguments no matter how weak they are, get banned, or just spreading FUD. What we all need to do is ignore the trolls and not bite on their hooks.

IGNORE THE TROLLS

I agree. If they don't get a reaction they'll just get bored and move on.

Although i tend to agree with you on the whole "IGNORE THE TROLL CAMPAIGN". I would rather teach them a lesson before they get banned. what pisses me off is when some idiot with the name QBFINEST was running his mouth over at the article/comment section and it took the MODS quite sometime to get rid of him. He/she insulted a lot of the good members we have here, and just talked crap nonstop till he got banned. One good aspect of a troll coming over to BD.com. That is whenever they come here, THEY ARE HERE FOR A CONFESSION = They Know their format was dead no matter what = situation got worth for them = They regret the bad decision in supporting such inferior format = So, finally they end up here to talk trash. So like you said Trollers tend to try to goat us into their pathetic little excuse called "BAD DECISION/REGRET" to get us into their level, and forget the topic we are discussing. I mean goddamn that article about WB considering BD support has 92 comments. about 30 of it people arguing with this IDIOT.

Decent sentiment, but another post acknowledging trolls doesn't help the cause. Hopefully the mods get quick trigger fingers with the trolls and save us the headaches.

I agree that there is a difference in trolling. "I am HD DVD now but thinking of blu-ray, what are the advantages" are fair questions. It is the "HD DVD sale is death to blu-ray, better go out and buy an A2", "blu-ray people are idiots", "blu-ray is dead", those are trolls that should be ignored.

what really sucks is when you go amazon to view a product and there are pointless reviews discussing back and forth why hddvd sucks and why our format sucks. I just want to see what people say about PQ. sound...etc...not why its not on a particular format. Its just pointless

Another thing, DON'T QUOTE THEM. It makes the mods job of cleaning up a lot harder. If you want to reply, just do it, but don't spread their posts by quoting them. It just makes everything worse.

When/if they eventually do get banned, the mods will go clean up their posts but if people are quoting them all over the place, it doesn't work.

What about the "HD DVD is dead, this is just a desperation move" people?

This is a desperation move, how can it not be!

One more in the long line of HD-DVD knee jerk reactions to Blu-rays march onwards.

Transformers was countered, and more, by the BOGO, and this A2 firesale will be countered 10x over by the 40GB PS3.

Well, there is another, I would say marginally smarter group of trolls, who come here pose as Blu-ray supporters only to launch numerous threads and posts with panic ridden statements, like how can we counteract? What BDA is going to do now, etc, as if it is Blu-ray, not HD-DVD in troubled situation now. And to the casual observer of this forum it will indeed seem that we here are panicking, are getting really scared of that cheap Toshiba, etc. These kind of trolls are trying to turn this forum into another AVS. Those of us who left AVS to find some sanity, knowledge and fun here on this forum, are probably the most who is disappointed in seeing this trend. Please let's keep this forum in shape. Ignoring the trolls in not enough, they will methodically crap in each thread, create new threads of their own, all under a premise of "having a different opinion". Opinions are fine, trolling is not.

Fine, I am not saying that all the fire sale threads are trolls. I am saying when it is obvious that somebody is a troll, ignore them.

Just a matter of time before they (trolls) from the other sites invaded us....

It takes your first born to ban someone now.I guess the mod's don't want to offend the purple people here. Hey if you want to be purple, fine. Set up a "Purple People Forum" just don't let the red ant's take this place over.
