Default Ignore List

I'd like to offer some feedback on this feature.

I don't really see any advantage to the ignore feature as it functions currently. When I add someone to my ignore list, I can still see that they made a post. Only the content of the post is hidden. And all I have to do is click the View Post button to see it. Furthermore, if someone quotes the post of the ignored member later on in the thread, I can see it.

My suggestions:

1. If somone is on your ignore list, have their posts be completely removed from your view. So if they are poster #6 in the thread, you would see post #5 and then post #7 directly after that. You should see no evidence of anything from post #6.
2. If someone quotes from post #6 later on in the thread, that quote should not appear in your view. You should see everything in that person's post except the quote from the ignored member.
3. If the ignored member starts a thread, the thread should not be visible until someone not on your ignored list makes a post in that thread.
4. The ignored member should not appear in your view of the "Currently Active Users" list at the bottom of the forum.
5. You should get an error message if trying to view the Profile, Gallery, Collection, etc. of someone on your ignore list.
6. You should not be allowed to send or recieve Private Messages from people on your ignore list.

Thank you for listening.

I believe the ignore feature is to prevent people from contacting you through the PM. There is no way to make their posts invisible to you because the posts are part of the threads--unless you want to write all the code for the application you just proposed. I sure wouldn't know how to do that.

I think that their threads should be hidden from view also. I want to put Bruce_Pullen and carpaltonnel on my ignore list because I am sick of seeing 20 new threads every day by them in the movie discussion board.

If I still see their threads it is of no use.

Its a Vbulletin feature, the sites developers here have nothing to do with that. Maybe offer some insight to VB program developers
http://www.vbulletin.com/contact.php but I believe what Gremal said is what its purpose is

Heh, so I'm not the only one? I thought there was a pretentious thread contest going on or something.

I'm just getting sooo impatient with some of the newbies that feel they have to post 30 times a day.

If he makes one more poll, I'm going to have to release raptors on him.

I found it funny at first....until there was literally atleast 1 new thread every hour and realized he was serious.
