Default 1 millionth new receiver question

OK, so here is the deal:
I AM TIRED OF THIS ONKYO HANDSHAKING ISSUE. It takes 30 minutes just to get my dang PS3 to work. More time than that for my Wii!

So...do I tough it out until HDMI 1.4 comes out then get a new one?

Bring the receiver to the repair shop and wait 2 months for it to get fixed for free?

Maybe just say "To hell with it" And get something new today?
If I get something new, what is something around....$800 that would be suitable?

Did you check the PS3 threads, the Onkyo threads and their forums? I'm sure someone there can help you solve your handshake issue.

there also might be a pattern, as to how to turn on your components. (ie. receiver first, then ps3, then wii et al)...

as mentioned, try searching a couple of the onkyo threads, im sure there are others with the same challenges.

welcome to the forum.

I have a PS3 and a 606. Never had an issue. Maybe try a different HDMI cable.

I also have HDMI handshaking issues with my Onkyo 606 receiver. It happens with my PS3 and my cable box. There are more and more of this problem popping up. This seems to be a big problem with the 606 and if you do not have it yet then it definitely might happen in the near future. From what I know the only way to fix it is to either send it in and get it fixed or buy a new receiver. I am very close to the second option but I don't have the money to spend on a new receiver right now.
