Default 7.1 set up for 1,500 or less

I'm looking to spend about 1,500 on a complete system, and I'm looking for recommendations on the components. I will be connecting a PS3, Xbox 360, HD Sat and computer, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Howie,

What are the dimensions of your room? I'd personally lean toward the extra 2.0 being height unless you have a LONG room.

I know that Back and Rear Surround are popular, and great for some. But after comparing that with front height, I much prefer and found more noticable difference with height over the extra rears.

Default inexpensive 7.1 components

Find yourself a nice receiver for a few hundred bucks (you can get a nice Denon for $400 and some change at Best Buy). I have included links to both Best Buy and Polk Audio's eBay pages. The Polk page has some tremendous deals available, all guaranteed by Polk themselves. Best Buy's page is pretty good as well, especially if you're looking for some accessories. I work at Best Buy, can ya tell yet?

I used to work at Best Buy.

I also own a Denon, that offers 7.1 with either Front Height or Back Surround. (AVR-790 basically the same as the AVR-1910) Overstock.com & Buy.com have the AVR-790 for $420-430 (search shopping for the item on Google)

I also bought my Polk fronts (L/C/R) from their ebay auctions.
