^^^ Yep .

I prefer "The Prestige" too, buy a hair. I think I'm more attracted to Nolan's storytelling and visual style. "The Illusionist" is good in its own right though.

There's a major problem with The Illusionist:

Basically, Ed Norton's character (Eisenheim), uses magic to have the Prince arrested via a set up!! He frames him!! Just because we the viewers want the two lead actors Eisenheim (Norton) and Sophie (Biel) to be together, doesnt mean ya frame the current boyfriend to get arrested!!

If Eisenheim didnt go there, the Prince and Sophie would have had a normal relationship, instead of the impossible-never-happens-in-real-life-fantasy relastionships that happens when Eisenheim shows up!

From a WRITING standpoint, Prestige is better.

When I saw THE ILLUSIONIST, I was like, "WTF?! Ed Norton is the bad guy! Ed Norton's character is setting up the prince so he could have Sophie to himself... Yet Ed is the hero?!"

That's a problem STORY-WISE. It doesn't mean The Illusionist is a bad movie. You could still have fun watching a movie that was written with a mistake in character judgment..etc. That's what going to the movies is for; Fun. To escape. But its not written as well. Any writer will tell you that.

So, story-wise, PRESTIGE is better, and we can ALL AGREE.

The people that voted for The Illusionist simply think they liked it better because they like Biel's extra large dopey-looking grill (that mouth is TOOO big) or, her masculine shoulders..etc.
