The funny thing is that Burton made Batman right after that, that feautered a less frightening Joker, Keaton should've played Joker

I agree with you on that. Nicholson would have made a better Joker if it was filmed during the 70's.

I think Nicholson did a fine job as Joker and Keaton was excellent as Wayne/Batman, I wouldn't change it at all.

yeah he was a little too campy, but the whole movie was. its funny how at the time it was lauded as being this dark departure from the adam west show, but looking back its more like the show than it is like the recent batman films. its one of those movies that was a product of the time, and while i still love it, it really doesnt hold up that well.

I agree, those Batman movies, while I still like them, just don't hold up as well. To me, they started to become a bit like the TV show where you had to get top named stars to play the vilians and they werer a bit cartoonish.
On the other hand I think Ledger's joker was more of a real person and made him more evil in that respect.
