Cool news, thanks for the info! I still only have ONE, lonely hybrid SACD (DSOTM) for my PS3. Would love to get more, but they're so expensive...

Awww man. I'll wait for reviews before I decide to buy. $45 is a lot to spend on a SACD.

Some interesting titles!

But why not recent titles do. I would kill for some recent pop-rock-alternative releases.

I will get the Velvet Underground SACD. That album is pretty lo-fi in nature, but it is tempting me like a siren. So has anyone found the cheapest place to order these Japanese SACDs from?

All the sources I've seen are all selling for retail price so far (4500 YEN). Maybe some will come down in price later?

Ah, but were they DSD remasters from the original analog tapes?

I checked out HMV, which has been a great source in the past but they also list Who's Next and Aja at ¥4500 which is about $50. These prices are outrageous - but if I could find any reviews that rave about these being the best ever issues then I'd bend over and fork out the cash for the umpteenth time on yet another version. Don't think the price will change much as these are Japanese limited editions and usually aren't discounted in Japan.

I'm going to get smacked for this, but I always, really really wanted Geffen to put out an SACD of Guns N' Roses Appetite for Destruction. I can't buy the OOP MFSL Gold CD at those outrageous prices...

Ironically, the GN'R albums were recently released as standard SHM-CDs in Japan, but no SACD that I can find...

Hope one day for some GN'R-releases There had been some rumours for SACD-releases. Except the greatest hits, they were all released as SHM-discs in Japan (I think).

Heard Universal Music Japan will release a few shm-sacd titles every three months Keep hope alive

Opinions on other forums generally agree that they'll first release an SHM-CD, then a SHM-SACD depending on sales of the CDs.

SO, after some proper milking, we may see a GnR SACD.

There were some rumours (in 2009) about a US-release for GNR in sacd, not an Asian. No idea if it's true ...

I know there is probably plenty of SACD fans over here who are biased towards that format, I'm not too familiar with SACD, is it exactly the same as DSD or does DSD have to modify it to get SACD? Also which is a superior audio format between DSD vs LPCM and closer to the original master recording?

Should Hollywood go towards recording, mixing, mastering their movies in DSD onto bluray in the future when bluray discs hold more space? DSD would have benefits in anti-piracy too because it's harder to pirate DSD right and have less headaches for the studios? Please correct me if I'm way off.
