Well I just got The Sadist Blu-ray/DVD combo pack today. The only way to get this is from Johnny Legend on ebay or amazon (where I got it)
![]() The Sadist Blu-ray The PQ is pretty damn good. It's sharp and defiantly a upgrade from the DVD. The print used is in good shape, but does have some fine scratch lines, dust specks and a frame jump or 2. Other then that it looks great. The AQ is very good and is DD 2.0 MONO Extras are on the DVD. Note: these look to be a pre-production DVD-R and BD-R, but played fine in my PS3. Just watched it tonight. Definitely worth getting on bluray. Vilmos Zsigmond's photography is really good. Lots of deep focus shots and interesting angles and compositions. The bluray looks very film like and authentic. Projected, it feels like a drive in movie, not a video.

I'm assuming these are bootlegs even though the seller claims they have legal permission to sell it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Sadist-o...item417fd62dc7 The original release was a BD-R anyway, so how could you know if it was a bootleg? |

Back in the 1980's, Johnny Legend struck a deal with Arch Hall, Sr., for most if not all of the Arch Hall films for release on Rhino Video VHS. He is a somewhat legitimate seller of this title, as far as I know. However, Arch Sr. died shortly thereafter, so their deal certainly wouldn't have included Blu-ray, or even DVD.
Code Red has spoken of having access to a "mint" 35MM print of THE SADIST, but hasn't exercised that option as of this writing. |

The original release by Johnny Legend was legit as far as I know even though it was a BD-R. But it has been unavailable for a long time. Now I see this eBay seller selling a bunch of copies.
I'm just asking if this eBay seller "Restored Serials" is bootlegging this. |
