I read on another forum that HD DVD fanboys had gotten together and hacked it. If true its really sad.

Why are some HD DVD fans like a violent cult?

Maybe just DNS issues, I was not able to get in early last night, then had no issue later on, and then it was down this morning again.

Its not FUD they were discussing it openly on AVSforum late last night.

But now they have made the two threads vanish.

I have been around the Blu-ray community a long time and would not make this up guys.

AVS... figures... I betcha there was no hacking involved, it's probably something else... maybe I will send an e-mail to them.

This is true. If you google "Digital Bits hacked" you get two links to AVS forums, which lead to deleted threads. Hm.

I've found the evidence!!! If you follow the link all the threads have now vanished from AVS.

Maybe AVS didn't want to be liable for their members hacking another website illegally?

Actually it did appear to be hacked. I tried it a day or so ago, and up popped something about "your site has been hacked" or something along those lines. Complete with skull and crossbones, if I am (vaguely) recalling correctly.

Talking Thr secret behing DB's failures...

Toshiba convinced DB to allow them to demonstrate their new H-DuD based storage system and how it could benefit a bit website like DB. Only, every time they boot up, the player goes looking for updates, downloads, then freezes because there isn't enough storage space on a Dual-Layer to save the update on the new H-DuD recordable disc. They were going to try a Triple-Layer disc, but the unit Toshiba brought with them to demo isn't capable of reading or writing to a Triple-Layer.

Better luck Next Generation

But again, the site WAS up and running with no mention of tech issues last night for at least a couple hours.

I have the screen capture of the digitalbits hack as it was in my history folder from last night when it happened. Hack by the V4team, says contact Dj_moad@hotmail.fr. Would upload capture, but don't know how.

This is sad but not unexpected from HD DVD fans (if it was indeed hacked).
