Default Volcano Affecting Amazon US Shipments?

Just ordered 2 titles that met my price criteria, We Were Soldiers and Varsity Blues. Estimated arrival dates are May 19, 2010 - May 24, 2010 for each. Unusual to say the least. I have been buying Blu-rays on a steady clip and the only order I have had with delay was one I placed from Amazon UK. All I have ordered were in stock. Anyone else seeing this? I don't know if they are getting them via Europe or not, the only thing I know that is effecting movement of commerce is the volcano. And by they, I include the vendors and possibly the studios (raw materials, blank discs, etc).

If they are from Europe/the UK I doubt that would explain the delay as I ordered something from Amazon UK to the US which arrived yesterday, but was estimated to arrive in like 8 days time. I don't know why they'd affect internal US shipments, but I guess it's a mistake and they will arrive the same time as they normally do. If the volcano is not really affecting Amazon imports anymore, I don't see how it could be affecting internal shipments.

I had one shipment from the UK delayed by a few days due to the volcano. Outside of that, everything has been arriving as usual.

For several days, travel was delayed or temporarily stopped due to the eruption, At least that was my understanding here in the states.

Before anyone posts any sarcastic remarks, the volcano delayed the Wii launch of Silent Hill in Australia.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/108/1084692p1.html

From that article:

One of the world's leading freight forwarders, Expeditors, has advised this morning that, due to the substantial freight shipments that are building up around the world, they are uncertain how quickly the backlog will be cleared.

My order from Amazon UK shipped on April 20 and is estimated at May 12. Amazon gets these DVDs from somewhere, I don't know if in the states or not, that is what I am saying. If out of stock, and waiting on a European maker to fulfill the order of if stuck passing through London, which is the major air freight hub of Europe.

I placed an order from Amazon UK on a Sunday and received one Blu Friday and the second one the following day. I was impressed. I placed a second order last Monday and but so far nothing. I was hoping for the same result as my first order. Still, if it arrives before this Friday, I'll still be very happy.
