Default Will there be a King Kong re-release?

Anyone know if there will be a double dip on King Kong in the future? Maybe something with more special features or something. The current release certainly doesn't need a video or audio upgrade though.

I'd like to see some sort of King Kong: Ultimate Edition.

I don't see any reason to. We already have perfect A/V quality and the extended edition with a lot of special features.

That would be very doubtful. Universal is already sitting on a number of BDs that need releasing, and they look in no hurry to get them out. The number of re-releases in the Blu-ray era will be drastically lower than it was for DVD. Physical media sales are on the decline, and that is hurting the studios' incentive to release multiple editions of the same movie.

I believe it is quite likely within the next 2 years. They held back on quite a few extra features for the current BD, and they will utilize those for the double dip.

The Blu-Ray is missing a 3 hour making of documentary, 40+ minutes of deleted scenes, and many other special features from the DVD release

my guess is they would just release the same copy now and throw in a standard def DVD of the rest of the special features. just by the DVD and through that disc in now and be done with it.

An added 40 minutes MORE than the extended version that's on BD?

Pass.

Of course it will see a re-release. The studios are in the business to make money. I'm not sure I would double dip since the initial Blu-ray offering is pretty sweet. However, one thing is for sure. I have no desire to see an "extended" extended edition—the movie is too freakin' long already.

I'm happy with the current release. It's in my top 10 movies of all time.
