Just watched King Kong on TNT HD the other day. WOW, why isn't this out on Blu yet? Awesome footage and sound.

This is a Universal title, that will make its way to Blu-ray eventually. I did see King Kong in one of the HD channels a while back, and it truly does look great.

I saw it on Cinemax HD a while back and thought it was one of the best HD movies I've seen on TV. I'm sure the BD will be better though.

Yes, it's truly amazing on HD. I own it on DVD.

I've had King Kong in HD on my DVR for a while now, theatrical version of course. Now damn that movie looks great in HD. There are so many great scenes that would be great reference material. The entire end scene on the Empire State Building definitely.

Have also seen this numerous times in HD and it only wets the appetite for a bd transfer.

I believe the HD-DVD is only the theatrical version. I truly hope that when Universal does release this on Blu, it will be the extended cut.

I went out and bought that KK Extended Super Special Edition when they double dipped and I loved it.

for the time being, however, I 'm just hoping for some kind of announcement at all from Universal or Paramount. Throw a dog a bone, will ya guys??

I'm watching it on TNT right now.... Can anyone compare the HD television version to the HD DVD? I've never watched an HD DVD, and wonder if someone actually thought it was better than the HD tv version, or was pretty much the same.
