today i noticed spawn went down to 14.99 so i picked up a copy and also added Knight Rider (remake) season 1 to make it just over 40.00 and got free shipping...

give it a month or two and it will probably be $8 at HMV with the rest of the Alliance titles

i cant find out it on futureshop or bestbuy's online store...and i didnt see it when i was at walmart yesterday...

i'm not driving 45 minutes for my closest HMV
i was waiting to find something to pick up along with Knight Rider anyways

ordered sunday and received today....definetely faster than if i had gone to hmv since i wouldnt have been able to go until the weekend...plus as an added bonus i didnt have to drive anywhere

please give us ur feed back on the video quality? worth the blu purchase, or jus find a cheap dvd till a proper release?

not too sure when i'll watch it...i was planning to watch it this weekend but my team pulled through tonight so thats going to take time away from bluray watching

i'll try and tell you guys what i think once i pop it in however my tv tends to make most bluray movies look really good so i'm not sure how much i'll really notice unless its really obvious

The HMV product page says this version has both the Director's AND the Theatrical Cut of the film; can anyone confirm? I haven't seen this in stores yet...

I bought the disc on release day, and here is what I think of it:


Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1, French Dolby Digital 5.1
Theatrical Cut: Yes
Director's Cut: No (Despite the cover saying Director's Cut)

PQ: Very soft and still full of, what I believe to be scratches and maybe some film damage (that, or my PS3 is slowly dying, which I wouldn't really mind at all). Just slighly better than an upconvert

AQ: We are given the exact same Dolby Digital track that is found on the DVD. And I mean, exact. It's only 448 kbps

I would recommened you wait for a proper American / European release, and just find an el-cheapo dvd copy if you really want this movie.

Alliance is so sleazy. Advertising that the disc has both cuts of the film then only giving the theatrical is just...

it looks like they just recycle the DVD covers and disc art for all their releases (except ones published by other companies, but distributed by Alliance e.g. Dark City)

in this case, they probably sent some rookie online to download the Spawn cover and he got the Directors Cut, only reason I could think of

Don't think they would purposely advertise a Director's Cut that isn't actually on the disc... they haven't done it on any other films of which director's cuts exist, so I don't see why they would choose spawn to intentionally try to mislead people

i think i've seen that before on a dvd box set...the cover they ended up using was definetely from online because it had a watermark from a website lol

well if its not director's cut for real i'll have to write and complain and who knows maybe i get a partial refund....its too late to return it to amazon.ca because i opened it

i saw a Nintendo DS game called Imagine Babies that has iStockPhoto watermarks on a few images on the cover

(No, I don't own the game just heard about the watermark thing online, then checked it out in-store... sure enough...)

pretty bad when a company doesnt have their own stock photos to use

you would also think whoever searched for the picture would spend more time looking when he notices a watermark...unless they are blind
