Cool I wish the format war is over already....

So I am not having to refresh certain websites (HDD, Bluray, EnGadgetHD, Gizmodo, Digital Bits..etc) for new NEWS announcements every couple of hours and look through new forum threads/posts for new rumors and insider news...

I just want things to go back to normal from 2 years ago...where we just buy/watch movies and eat pop corn! Where we're not constantly on pins and needles about the next rumored announcements or sudden unexpected OUT OF THE F-in Blue announcements.

I am tired of following up on NielsenScan HDM sales numbers every Friday, tired of seeing one format strike a blow to the other format and vice versa...

Is it too much to ask for ONE HDM format, and yes it has to be BluRay by the way!

<---Yep I think I am indeed suffering from battle fatigue...Where is the nearest massage parlor?

May as well kick up your heels and wait until December 2008. Until then, we can't expect Paramount / Dreamworks to go neutral - let alone BD exclusive.

Thankfully WB is still neutral as this could woo Paramount back. That would leave Universal looking like the last stick in the mud and follow suit. While, other issues are sure to follow with this kind of trend, it becomes a "soft win" for BD because all the major studios do blu-ray - even though 3 are still neutral. The "hard win" only comes when they drop HD DVD completely. 2009 will be a very interesting year indeed.

Honestly?

These companies are all in bed with each other on all kinds of ventures outside of the HDM format war anyways and all the time.

One recent example:

http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/18/s...ll-to-toshiba/

^^ Now, here are these two in the middle of an arch rivalry with each other on this HDM format war and then you see something like this.

I'm increasingly wondering if the whole format war is a feint and ruse of some sort.

I think it could be put to an end anytime the so called powers that be wanted it to be over.

That's my probably conspiracy theory esque opinion on the whole thing.

Yes this has crossed my mind over the past three years quite frankly. Why can't they all just get together and resolve their petty argumets?

Something's wrong...

Maybe it truly is a Sony vs. Mcrosoft thing - do they work together on anything?

TOTALLY AGREE!! 1000%...except IMO it doesn't have to be Blu...I'd settle for ANY single format if it meant we can all get back to normal.
