Talking Blu-ray may die elsewhere but not in...

...JAPAN. I think BD still enjoys a 96:1 sales lead here. Many Japs are pouring lots of negative comments in amazon.co.jp on Transformers being made available only on HD DVD. Doesn't mean that Transformers on HD DVD sucks but a little more room could have made it look and sound like the Holy Grail of Hi-Definition.

I'm happy that BD is doing so well in Japan...I just wish HD-DVD was doing that badly over here.

Some claim that only the USA matters in the format war.

Of course,... that's a fully ignorant claim resulting from wishful thinking.

It doesn't matter,.. even the most head in the sand HD DUD-er is going to know soon enough that Blu Ray is the new standard for home video.

If the dollar keeps falling that Euro and Yen revenue might just be a bit more important

The world market is combined (minus the US) is far larger than the US market. Blu-ray is dominating the world over with it's lowest showing being in the US. If the world chooses Blu-ray (which it already has) then the US must follow.

From what I have seen and heard, Blu Ray is winning everywhere in the world. The last "stronghold" (if you want to call it that) is here in the US. Example and correct me if I am wrong, but we were the only market that got the $99.00 HD DVD players dumped here last week. Sales on Blu Ray still holds the lead, but just not a big as the rest of the world.

Toshiba wouldn't be able to do a fire sale in every country Blu-Ray is sold and they are being very narrow minded with supplying the U.S. only. I think this will definitely back fire on Toshiba sooner or later. Toshiba wouldn't be able to have a firesale everywhere because it would lost too much money. Since some companies still think that the U.S. sets the trend for pretty much everything they are solely focusing on the U.S. and if they succeed they will have everybody around the world with BD welcome mats.

The BDA has to seriously play Toshiba's game and lower prices to force the hand of Toshiba into submission. This war is dragging to long and has to come to an end. All of us U.S. owners need to unite and put the punishing blow to HD-DVD starting with buying a lot of WB BD's to bring WB to Blu-Ray exclusively. For the first time I saw somebody looking at HD-DVD movies at Best Buy, I had never seen anybody look at them! They also didn't purchase any which is a good thing but I did buy 2 bd's.

The Mummy. I bought another (The Mummy Returns - just to complete the series), but each time I bought it, I bought BDs as well to cancel my HD DVD purchase. That would be my last HD DVD purchase ever if BD wins.

My opinion, not as good as BD. the menu is slow, audio, no PCM (noted the difference on my laptop (it has 5 speakers and subwoofer)

By the end of this year I will own 30 BDs (just add my preorders up)

Indonesia is 100% BD, and the only disc that is available legally is only BD. BD/HD DVD import disappeared after legal copies (non-import) of BD appeared.

Yes, in theory, that is correct. But this is America, and we're very stubborn (in the case of this format war, it is unfortunate). Can anyone say 'metric system'? Ultimately we're just going to have to buy exclusively Blu and convince friends and family to do the same. Money talks, more so here than I think anywhere else in the world.
