I wonder, do any of you collect(ed) DVD Steelbooks apart from collecting Blu-ray Steelbooks? After all they are still being released, and there is more titles available than BD SBs

Anyone collecting DVD Steelbooks as obsessively as they collect Blu-Ray Steelbooks?
Is there a DVD equivalent of Iron Man (FS), Indy 4 or John Rambo? I picked up a copy of Iron Man Steelbook on DVD last week when I was in the USA, partly because it was on special offer at $14.99 and partly because I like the artwork. I also have Dark Knight (USA), Donnie Darko (GER) and Sin City (UK). |

I still buy/collect DVD Steelbooks, but only from movies that aren't likely to get any Blu-ray Steelbook treatment (soon).
Still in my main Steelbook closet are: - The Big Lebowski - Braveheart Definitive Edition - The Departed (because I hate the Bluray Steels with non-English titles) - The Incredible Hulk - Jurassic Park Trilogy (this Steelbook costs a lot less space than any other trilogy release) - Back to the Future Trilogy (ditto) - Kingdom of Heaven Definitive Edition - Predator Definitive Edition - Reservoir Dogs - True Romance - Up (I don't like Jumbos) I'm still trying to get V for Vendetta, Heat and Batman on DVD Steelbook. My Blu-ray Steelbook collection is outgrowing my DVD Steelbook collection though ![]() Indiana Jones 4 and Rambo 4 both got DVD Steelbook releases in Holland. |

I also see this as the future of the BD steelbook. We have already had lots of garbage titles released and as time goes on, the BD steelbook release list will grow exponentially to the point of ![]() I wish all of the remaining completist collectors the very best of luck, seriously ![]() Cheers CrashKelly |

I must say I agree with you. Just looking at it from a UK point of view. We have (if my maths is correct) 20 blu ray steelbooks released over here. 8 of them are 2010 releases. In fact, half of them have been released since November 2009. Seems their popularity is only growing. |

I actually have quite a few DVD steelbooks. Most of mine are for personal favorite movies or store exclusives that I could get (before ordering from other countries). There are tons of just absolute crap movies with steelbooks though, so it kind of sucks.
My favorite dvd steels that I own are: Platoon X-men 1.5 and 2 (never wanted to pay for the 3rd since I didn't enjoy the movie that much) Death proof Planet Terror Boondock Saints Cloverfield Transformers (Decepticon) Doctor who complete 4th season (thanks best buy price error, got it for $20) Robocop Beowulf. I have quite a few other, but have stopped collecting them and now just grab BD steels every now and then. Last edited by SatinKzo; 06-04-2010 at 12:24 PM. |

I do collect the odd DVD steelbook still. I try and find the more unusual ones, i recently got The Grudge 2 steelbook with 3-D lenticular cover. I also like the liquid metal paks from spain, i just got The Hitcher and it has red liquid that looks like blood in the cover, i think it looks pretty cool!
