She washed my Ipod Touch

So the wifey threw my sweatshirt without checking the pockets with my ipod touch inside!! Grrrr

Anything I can do to save it?

Update: IT WORKS!!!! well sort of, the screen is darker and the wifi doesnt work. Guess im have to load music as I never did only streamed pandora lol

I'm guessing she threw it in the washing machine? Did it also go through the dryer?

If it's dried out and still doesn't work then it's probably gone. Have you tried hooking it up to your computer to see if it even registers?

i had a fight with my gf and put the ipod in the sink and it didnt work for a couple days i put it in a bowl of rice for 2 days and let it charged for a day and it works now!!

Can you take it apart and make sure everything is super dry? If not do you have another or know someone with one to switch parts and see what it is that is not working

Damn no rice in the house!! wtf lady!! lol It just turned on but it wont connect to wifi which makes it useless since I only use it to stream Pandora and Espn radio. I just put it in the over and leave it overnight see if that dries it up a bit more.

No one told her to wash my damn sweashirt! It was in the car for a reason! grrr plus didnt she feel it heavy on one side!!

That sucks but depending on where the sweatshirt was, at least in my house, would change who's fault it was. Once stuff here makes it to the laundry basket anything left in the pockets is going to get wet at the very least and I am to blame. If however something is grabbed off the back of a chair, the end of the couch or off the footstool and something gets washed it becomes her fault as the clothing in question hasn't made it to the designated "dirty laundry" area.

Just saw your post about where it was, yup she is at fault here.

But,...The rice thing works but not if you are trying to turn it on and use it while it's still damp inside. You have to not be doing stuff like that till it's been in rice overnight.

I think when you say you got it to turn on but not work... That was the end right there.

Well,... My wife just won't check pockets... She just won't. I always check pockets of all the laundry I do.

Currently... I do ALL the laundry in the house for everyone except my wife. She has "notions" of how she wants her stuff done that I don't understand. She's happy to keep her own stuff seperate and she has her own ways (which are pretty complicated) of washing it.

I think he should just say.... "I know this was an accident but if it's ok with you I want to do my own laundry from now on that way If I leave stuff in my own pockets and forget to check them then I will know I'm the one who made the mistake."

Or something like that.

I say he should go buy rice and try it. Works often.... it's worth a try.

Oh by the way this is MY fault for leaving it in the car nowhere near the dirty clothes hamper!! lol

Music play but wifi wont. I only have 3 songs since most of my listening is at work where I use wifi for pandora or radio. Oh and the screen is almost completely black lol I let the battery drain this morning so its charging right now so I can do any tests since it wont turn on right now.

I agree... it is not like she did it on purpose or with some ill will. She probably thought she was being nice in doing your laundry. Of course it sucks that the touch has been potentially ruined, but actually getting mad at her will not make the situation better and it will not fix the touch.
