Default "No Country For Old Men"

Did anyone get a chance to see this movie? It's not playing in my area, but it looks good to me.

EDIT: I just noticed it won't be released in all theaters until the 21st. It's being distributed by Miramax films, which I think has a tie to Buena Vista. Can anyone confirm that for me? Might this come out for Blu-ray?

I asked the insiders this same question and got one yes from someone who admittedly isn't an insider. I also posted a thread and got no response, I posted the same question on the newly announced blu-ray movies and got no response.

Well thanks for your response. Is it playing in your area or do you have to wait until the 21st?

Sad to say it is not in my area yet. Kind of surprising as there are 2 theaters within 3 miles of my house.
Here is a link to the extended trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/mirama...ldmen/trailer/

So far it has received almost all perfect marks.

I'm that non-insider that answered about this title in that other thread. It's going to be a Blu-Ray release, as it is distributed by Disney in domestic territories (since Miramax is Disney). So yes, this is definitely coming to BD. Disney already has it planned for a BD release.

paramount has theatrical distribution rights in the uk, universal has theatrical distribution rights somewhere else (netherlands?). i don't know how this effects video distributions, though. i'm (probably unrealsitically) hoping that, by the time this and other good movies make their way to home video, this format rivalry becomes a moot point.

This movie project is a Miramax/Paramount Vantage joined venture, I have still not seen witch of the two companies is going to distribute it on media. Lets just hope it's Miramax...

I recall seeing this I think in a big list of 2008 leaked Disney releases, as well as O Brother Where Art Thou.

Take it with a grain of salt though... But I believe it is planned.

IMDB Looks like Miramax theatrical US and Paramount theatrical for most of the world. Universal has the Netherlands and Buena Vista has Argentina. There is no mention of Video release, Hopefully it will be Miramax (AKA Buena Vista, Disney)

This movie is fantastic. It is the best movie I've seen this year, and I'm dying to see it again. I'm really suprised how well received it has been so far. Don't get me wrong it was great and very deserving of the accolades however it seems to me to be one of those either you love it or you hate it (or you just don't get it) type movies.

Hopefully Miramax will have media distribution rights in the states. It is a must buy imho.

It's needless to say one of the best-reviewed films (if not the best-reviewed film thus far) of the year.

Miramax is owned by disney. so yes it shouldn't be a problem.

Just saw this and I am completely blown away. No Country for Old Men, and 3:10 to Yuma are the 2 best movies I've seen all year.
Both will be blu-ray exclusives and I am elated.

While I'd love to have it on BR (I'm a huge Coen brothers fan), I'm not convinced Miramax has the video release rights. From what I've seen if there's two companies involved, one gets the theatrical release responsibility (Miramax) and the other gets the home video release.

Paramount Vantage is other company.

I suppose we'll see what happens though.
