I have a Sony BDP-S1 (and an xbox 360) in my main living room and I love it. The problem is I have purchased too many movies and all the new movies from Disney. Now my kids cannot watch their movies in their room and when football is on i am not willing to give up the big TV.
My solution is to get a PS3 (80gig) and put it in one of the kids' rooms so they can play video games and watch their movies. How does the new PS3 compare to the old 60gig. Is it better? Anyone else running into a similar problem? |

As far as the problem..yep..we will be adding another one in the basement real soon because of the conflicts and then a 3rd (40GB) in the master bedroom shortly after that.. |

I would seek the 60Gb if I were you.
Chances are slim you will soon want more of a Hard drive in there. Chances are good you will love playing PS2 games reproduced perfectly and upsampled and now with a great wireless controller. I've been buying some of the best PS2 games ever made and they are usually under $10 used at my Gamestop. For example,.. I picked up Soul Calibur II which is in some top 10 PS2 game lists for $7.99 yesterday. And I love NFL2k3 which set me back a cool $0.99. (I checked compatability for kicks and SC II is notice-ably slower on the 80Gb and my guess is that kills a lot of it's play-ability.) Surprizingly many of these great games support widescreen ratios!! I might buy a PS3 game someday but under $10 for great games = too much fun for me currently. -Brian Last edited by bhampton; 11-15-2007 at 02:25 PM. |

I have a significant (30-40 cant remember the actual number) PS2 game collection, so Id recommend the 60gig. PS2 games are very cheap and there are many gems. Also a lot of the better PS3 games (Resident Evil 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3) have the initial games on PS1/PS2 and its nice being able to go back and get the whole story (impossible on the 40gig)
As a bluray player its top notch, fast loading, no BD+ or Java issues whatsoever. |

Just purchased the 80gig PS3. Now I have to wait until X-mas to use it.
