Yesterday I stopped by my friend's house who just got a 1080p pioneer elite. We watched some Prison Break Blu-ray and it looked amazing. I came home and I turned on my Prison Break Blu-ray and it now looks like crap to me. My TV vs. his is such a big difference. There is no way I am not getting a 1080p TV, even if I have to sell a kidney to get one. And I am not going to settle for anything other than a Pioneer Elite 1080p.

My TV is only...yes only 1080i, I wont settle for anything less this holiday season, what's the point of having a 1080i TV when the BD are 1080p? HD channels I get in 720p or 1080i as a max.... I use to try and make myself think that it was ok, but it's not ok....I'm with you on this, it's 1080p or death.

I LOVE my Bravia 1080p 46". It is amazing!
Like you, I can see a difference between them while others I know just can't. In fact a few have been hard pressed to see a difference between a DVD on it and a BD, until I point a few things out to them. Still, most people are very impressed with the quality of the image. When I showed some friends 2001, they were floored by the quality and before they even got to the Jupiter mission they were praising the qualities of Blu-ray! ![]() |

It is nice but its unfortunately NOT top notch.
That title is held by Pioneer Elite sets. My rich BIL owns one (pro calibrated no less) and I have to admit that it blows my Sony LCD away in details. Last edited by mgonzo2u; 11-16-2007 at 03:24 PM. |

it all depends on the budget. Of course a 7000 dollar tv is going to better than a 2000 dollar tv.

i have the 4065 just 5000 more contrast ratio difference between the 2 .. but have you seen the 4081 ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its over 100,000:1 contrast and 120 hz. poineer elite has nothing on that TV. my best friend happens to own both and theres no comparison. poineer does hold the title for best quality but its about to be stripped if they dont watch it. and that XBR4 is no joke either. its a puurty tv.

Once you have if it is setup right it will be on your wishlist. If anyone wants to get a real treat go to the Pioneer store in Costa Mesa. They only have them lining the walls. The only way I can go into that store is to leave the walet at home. So back to the op are you going to spend 6K or 7.5K? Since those are your only options for Elite. |

you guys are silly with the 500,000-100,000 contrast ratio's
![]() such an inflated number...sort of like the sets in the store with contrast turned way up just to make customers shit their pants when in reality its not true. Last edited by crackinhedz; 11-17-2007 at 02:34 AM. |
