Great movie. The Dutch Blu-ray has an uncompressed 5.1 PCM track, and standard DTS and Dolby Digital tracks. I'd really like to know what this version has. Also, the video sometimes looked digitally manipulated, but I don't know whether that was done for the DI, or for the Blu-ray. There's a lot of ringing, and it looks like some grain was scrubbed. Maybe this one will look better.
The movie itself is excellent, though.

I've never seen Oorlogswinter, but I've always wanted to. It looks to be an excellent film, and I may take a chance on a blind buy and hope for the best.

. . . just received WINTER IN WARTIME and the British Blu-ray plays on my Region A machine - DTS Dutch track, English subtitles . . . picture looked fine to me, but I am sure there will be various opinions . . .

It's a brilliant film and acting is very strong. It does have english subtitles but only when english language is not spoken.

Looks like something I'd enjoy. I thought Black Book was crap so that's not a selling point for me.

Pity about the lack of special features. The US Sony (seems to be a 1 disc flipper with DVD on the obverse) has something at least:

From memory, the special features on the Dutch BD aren't English friendly. I'm fairly sure, however, that the main feature has optional English subs available for it.

Where does it say it's a flipper? It's a two disc set, surely?

That's what I thought but I've seen several comments from people saying it has "1 disc only". Maybe it's been released in Blu-ray only.

Thanks, yeah the info seems to confirm English subtitles on the main film [when they're speak non-English only I assume].
