So, here is my spec:
Matsushita/Panasonic UJ-210 BD-RE Player: Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 7 HP QuickPlay Notebook: HP Pavilion HDX9095EA 20.1 inch T7500 2GB 400GB I set my region code for DVD as region 2, while BD as region B. PowerDVD is my default BD player (region B) But, just now, I made discovery that HP QuickPlay can play my BDs (but identify it as HD DVD). And, it is rejecting all of my region B BDs. So I tried Region A disc, and it plays, then I return to cyberlink powerDVD and it did not play region A, but region B Is this NORMAL? I mean I can play region A using one program, while region B on other program |

BD regions are handled in the software, DVD regions are stored in the drive.

but I've seen in powerdvd that there is number of region changes before it will be permanent. that is not for DVD, but for BD. still worried about that. so, it's just like RPC1 drives on DVD. Hope they don't introduce BD version of RPC 2 soon |

im suspecting that the quick play by passed all softwar and play the hardware(all regions) if im correct the quick play dose not load the operating system and by defute the system loads the hardwares defut which for dvd is fine but since bd uses software mite be an issue but will probly be fix once bd+ is implamented into drives nativly

use a computer, as stated above, BD region code is not stored in the hardware, but software. I am capable of region A and B from Japanese and European PS3.
my laptop is capable of 2 regions due to 2 different BD software players used, but that does not apply to standalone player or ps3 |
