BD region Coding (weird discovery)

BD regions are handled in the software, DVD regions are stored in the drive.

ahhh thanks. I thought it will remember my region code. So that means my drive is capable of all region?
but I've seen in powerdvd that there is number of region changes before it will be permanent. that is not for DVD, but for BD. still worried about that.

so, it's just like RPC1 drives on DVD. Hope they don't introduce BD version of RPC 2 soon

yes drive i cabel of all regions can be switched 5 times like dvd drives? but after the 5th switch it locks maybe u found a glitch :P

but if you use different program? will it affect?

I use HP QuickPlay for region A
PowerDVD for region B

im suspecting that the quick play by passed all softwar and play the hardware(all regions) if im correct the quick play dose not load the operating system and by defute the system loads the hardwares defut which for dvd is fine but since bd uses software mite be an issue but will probly be fix once bd+ is implamented into drives nativly

no. mine is a new version of quickplay, which load not via linux-based anymore, but via windows. it loads windows first as it is not linux based anymore. I know that in some older models you can load DVD player without loading windows.
I think my laptop is one of the first which implement windows based quickplay.
