some flat panel lcd hdtv questions

does anybody know of any good deals out there or what the best deal out there is for a GOOD flat panel lcd 1080p hdtv? I'm looking to spend less than $2000 for a good tv. I'm looking for a tv around 42"-50" because I could use more space in my room.

I already have a 61" samsung dlp but its really too big for my room and was thinking of moving it to the living room or perhaps selling it.

And can somebody tell me the advantages and disadvatages of having a flat panel lcd or plasma over a dlp. I know dlp and rear projections are cheaper.
