Which Japanese blu-ray releases have english subs??

I just recieved the Innocence anime blu-ray from CDJapan. It is awesome!


This was so good I need to buy more imports


Can someone help me please with a list of Japan only releases and indicate which ones have english subs?

I don't believe Air has English subtitles. If you really want solid info on Anime releases, you can ask our local Anime expert, member Chris Beveridge of Animeondvd.com. Send him a PM, I'm sure he'll be glad to respond.

None of them have english subs. Unless CD-japan expressly mentions english subs you should asume they dont.

I agree. Actually I wanted to buy some Japanese anime when I was in Japan last week. However, all of them don't have English subtitle

Chris Beveridge says you can watch Project PAPO without subtitles with no difficulties as it has very very little dialogue (see his review on his website and also comments in another topic about this we had here) and it's a great transfer.

Actually, that would be Project PAPO. Brave Story is an involved movie with a lot of dialogue and action that needs subtitles. The DVD version has subs, the HD DVD and BD versions do not.

Damn! Why on HD DUD? I'd have gotten this on BD for sure, if it had subs.

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for this thread. Usually I have to fuse HD rips with subtitles manually, but I am grateful to find a list. I have used this list to buy a few movies already for my non english speaking girlfriend.
