I've seen some people comment on troubles with their Harry Potter pre-order from the Warner Store. I've had the 1-5 box set pre-ordered since about Nov. 10 and have yet to get any notice. Anyone know what the problem may be? I don't want to end up getting screwed at the last minute.

Default Delayed shipping from WB store!!!!

I have very little confidence that my pre-orders will arrive on time based on my previous experiences with WHV. Here are some examples:

1) Ordered Troy, Smallville, We are Marshall, and Wyatt Earp on 9/19/07, didn't receive them for three weeks AFTER the release date!!!

2) Ordered Polar Express and Ocean's Giftset on 9/23/07, didn't receive Polar Express for three weeks AFTER release date!!! Still as of today have NOT received the Ocean's Giftset!!!

I have Harry Potter Giftset pre-ordered on 9/25/07 along with Blade Runner in that same order and based on my other two orders....I have very little confidence that I will receive these by release day. I ONLY ordered from them for the 25 percent off code otherwise I would have used Amazon. The problem is that even cancelling your orders with them is a "crap shoot" as there is no guarantee that your order will be cancelled. Their system is VERY VERY archaic for a company the size of Warner. Example being at Amazon, you can cancel an order very easily and know that it will be cancelled...there is none of this "a notification will be sent to the warehouse" business and "hope" that they cancel the order....when I heard that from Customer Service I started laughing at them...what a joke!!! At this point I REGRET ordering from Warner and will not do so again for the foreseeable future.

If you don't care about receiving your orders on time..then great go with them..but if you do care...go with someone else. Poor..poor...shipping and customer service...BEWARE!!!!

Specifically we're looking for stuff released after October or so, when their software issues have hypothetically been resolved.

I don't know if this is an issue, but.....I was never able to get order/shipping statuses from WHV by phone - kept getting the same story about their systems being all messed up. But for some reason, I've gotten my orders the day before street (the Kubrick releases, Twilight Zone). We'll see what happens with Blade Runner and Led Zeppelin. One other issue is that they charged my credit card over a month after everything ships.

I've posted this before, but I did get the email notice last week that said my Ocean's Gift set and Hairspray are delayed on backorder. They could ship soon or up to 30 days later, the note said. I did not get any notice that my order might be cancelled.

My major complaint with Warner's with this order and the Harry Potter Gift set preorder is that *three times now*--the latest was last week--my bank account has gotten dinged with a charge and a (pending) notice for each of these two orders since I preordered them.

So, while Warner's *says* that they only charge you for titles when they actually ship, if I had not had the proper funds kept in my bank account to cover these preorders, I might have gotten dinged from my bank for the three times these two separate charges showed up on my statement and yet no items were ever (yet) shipped.

Eventually, after 3-4 days, the charges do drop off of my online bank statement. But it does make me concerned enough to ensure that the proper funds remain in place to pay even though I have no idea when those charges are actually going to be made when the items finally ship.

No other online preorders have ever gotten this repeated dinging with any other online company that I've ordered from before until the items actually ship.

I had a non-shipping issue with my order and called their Customer Service Department, but I found the CSR to be very unfriendly and unwilling to help.

The way she spoke and sighed made me feel like I was a burden, even though the issue was minor. (I just had to update billing information)

I finally had her cancel the order and ordered from Amazon. (this was in october some time)

I wasn't aware they were having software issues. After reading all this I wish I hadn't ordered from them. I did get an email confirmation for my order, but it had no details. It was basically along the lines of "hey, thanks for ordering harry potter, now we are going to spam you until you remove your email from our database."

Has anyone placed an order from them post-October and had better service?

They were having shipping and order and software issues a couple months back, but appeared to have gotten those under control. Now, however, there seem to be problems once more. I made three large orders a couple months back, but because I kept reading about--and experiencing problems yet again--I haven't ordered anything more from Warners. But I haven't tried to cancel my two remaining orders so that they could have a chance to get things right.

I was happy with WHV (7 received out of 11 Blu-ray's ordered) until the Ocean's giftset. Ordered on 11/01/07.
I canceled an Amazon order to take advantage of the WHV's faster shipping and discount code.
Qcean's was released on 11/13/07.
Now WHV is shipping much slower than Amazon ever did.

I just got a reply today from my email (11/19) status request on for the Ocean's giftset only. The reply: "delay in shipping back ordered items". They also listed 3 other pre-order titles, one has a release date of 1/1/08. They did not specifically address the shipping of Ocean's as requested.
Their reply email indicates, "titles will ship with in the next 30 days" to include a move that has a release date beyond 30 day period.

IMHO, this is a go-away form-letter with the movies I ordered listed.
This does not build confidence.

Oh well, back to Amazon - they have done a dependable job on the over 125 Blu-ray movies I have ordered from them and their pricing is at an acceptable discount.
Their online ordering system keeps me informed without prompting.

My question is why do they keep running these big sales if they are already in over their heads? They are just adding to the problem by having these sales and causing long term damage to their reputation. Cut the sales and get things working properly!

I ordered the Best of Blu Family pack that was released about a month ago (can't remember exactly when, but it has been out a while). Keep getting the emails about it being backordered. I cancelled and will get it somewhere else. Also cancelled other orders that never shipped (older catalog titles that should be in stock, but again, the backorder email). What's the point of any discount when you never get your stuff, or it's backordered and not shipped for months after release date? I cancelled my Potter set and will get that somewhere else too. I don't want to wait forever on that set to get to me, and with Warner, it would probably not ship until Easter or thereafter. No thanks. And I won't order from them again. What a horrible way to run an internet based site. No customer service that seems to know what to do, and no way to cancel an order without playing roulette.

I ordered all 5 Kubrick films on October 5th, and I have only received Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut. I continue to get delay emails regarding The Shining, Clockwork Orange, and 2001.

I want to cancel (these items are instock at most retailers) but I heard the process was daunting, and I don't want twice the product.

I also have an order for Aviator (shipped), Pan's Lab, Led Zeppelin, and Blade Runner.

After waiting well over a month for my kubrics to ship, I received another email from them yesterday. Not only are my movies being delayed yet again, they are now canceling my order unless I contact their customer service. I called to confirm the cancellation and was met with the same "your a burden on me" tone as the other poster without any real resolve to the issue.

I'm still waiting for the Oceans set and I preordered this back in September within 10 minutes of it first being posted on their website...maybe I should cancel this huh?

The sad part is this. I have never received an email from them about any delay, not shipping, etc. When I email their customer service department I get a reply back within 3 days stating the issue has been forwarded and someone at corporate will contact me. This has not happened and has been going on for a couple of weeks. Now they are just ignoring my emails and have not received a response in a week.

This has been my reason for not cancelling HP (or changing it to an order for the individual titles instead of the gift set of five). I worry that I'll make more of a mess of it than it already seems to be.

It is a shame that titles we're waiting for *are* available immediately, and we'd have them within a week if we were able to easily cancel from Warners direct.

I ordered mine on 10/17/2007: Bullit, 2001, Clockwork, The Shining, Oceans Boxset and Bladerunner.

1) Bullit shipped out fast (10/22/2007) - but they forgot part of the address (and yes, it was on my orderconfirmation). I never got it and it was returned to Warner.

I contacted customer service so they could fix it for my future shipments - way later they told me that they had forwarded my ticket to HQ (11/15/2007). Haven't heard from them since

2) The Shining shipped out 11/08/2007 - still with the wrong address. But this time I was prepared and got UPS to redirect it. This is the only one I have received until now....

3) Last e-mail is from the 11/14/2007 with the standard 30 day delay (until now without the 7 day cancel period)

4) The rest is MIA: 2001, Clockwork, Oceans Boxset

One last thing: Why is Warner shipping one single Blu-ray in one gigantic shipping box. This is really anoying as I get my stuff forwarded to Denmark. There is a nice picture somewhere in another thread.

I didn't have any trouble canceling my multiple Potters pre-order---got email confirmation of my email cancellation within 48 hours. I feel lucky.

I ordered The Sopranos: Season 6 Part II on September 6. Still nothing. I ordered Corpse Bride and the Ocean's Box Set on September 27. Still nothing. TO their credit they have filled everything else from the Sept. 6 order and a two of the items from the 9/27 order. The 9/27 order also includes Blade Runner which I am hoping to get in a more timely fashion.

EDIT: I just received an email stating that my copy of "Corpse Bride" finally shipped, only about 63 days after I placed the order. I am still waiting on Oceans Box Set and Sopranos.
EDIT 2: I just received one of the dreaded "30 day backorder" on the Sopranos. If I didn't get the 25% off I would have cancelled with them long ago.

I have three orders with them, but should only have two now.

The First:
Troy DC, and the Oceans Set - I received Troy DC, but am still receiving emails every 2 weeks that oceans is on back order.

Second: I ordered the Harry Potter 1-5 box set and then decided I wanted each movie individually , so I called and told them I wanted it canceled....it still shows as an order in my receipts page and that it is in process, I am also still receiving emails that it is also delayed.

Third: I ordered as I said before the Harry Potter movies individually, I have now just today received an email that they are delayed as well....

so i am afraid that I am going to receive both Potter orders as i have called twice and have been told that my cancel request is sent to the warehouse and the workers there have to do it....very high tech if you ask me.
