Ron Howard hasn't done a comedy in 10 years...

Kevin James To Buddy Up With Vince Vaughn In Ron Howard Comedy

Ron Howard is setting Kevin James to play Vince Vaughn’s best friend in the untitled Universal Pictures comedy about infidelity. The film is Howard’s next directing vehicle from a screenplay by Allan Loeb. Howard and Imagine partner Brian Grazer are prepping a spring start in Chicago. Kevin and Vince will play best friends and business partners, and Vaughn is tortured when he observes his pal’s wife getting intimate with another man. Should he tell? The comedy came from an idea by Grazer, who’ll produce with Vaughn and the actor's Wild West Picture Show banner. Imagine’s Kim Roth is executive producer. The buddy system has made for a nice transition for James after his long-running TV sitcom King of Queens. He paired with Will Smith in Hitch and Adam Sandler in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. After carrying Paul Blart: Mall Cop, he re-teamed with Sandler in Grown Ups and plays the title role in the MGM comedy The Zookeeper. Scripter Loeb has been writing about all forms of cheating, with recent credits that include the card-counting drama 21, Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, and now this infidelity comedy.

Kevin James is hilarious. Unfortunately, I don't find his movies to be very funny. I will hold judgement until I see a preview. Thanks for the heads up GreenScar!

I got to agree with you Vegeta. Paul Blart wasn't that funny. And his role in Hitch was forgettable, along with the whole film. He's better at doing sitcoms and stand up.

I hope so. Ron Howard is a great director IMO.

Howard is a fantastic director, but has he directed any comedies? I would think Howard will bring the best out of anyone he directs, but Kevin James? It still amazes me how Paul Blart became a hit...the fluke of the century.

But Ronny’s world is turned upside down when he inadvertently sees Geneva out with another man and makes it his mission to get answers. As the amateur investigation dissolves his world into comic mayhem, he learns that Nick has a few secrets of his own. Now, with the clock ticking and pressure mounting on the biggest presentation of their careers, Ronny must decide how and when he will reveal the truth to his best friend.

Great trailer!! Had some very funny lines & "usually" Ron Howard does quality work (& of course we get the Obligatory role for his older brother "Clint"

).

Well, yes and no--
The Yes would be "Gung Ho" and "Splash", the No would be "EdTV" and "The Grinch".

(And they're more recent.)
