i'm not getting it because its nothing like the original movie and it was a big let down but saying that my daughter enjoyed the movie so i might buy it for her.

Like I've stated on this forum before, Martin Liebman is THE worst reviewer on this site when it comes to movie scores. I almost always disagree with his scores. A 4.5 means little to nothing coming from him. According to him, The Karate Kid is better than Gladiator.

didn't get to see this in the theatre but looking at the 5 x 5 on the A/V of the review, I've got to pick this up day one!

it is good to see a non gun shooting car chasing & exploding movie get 5 on audio and video too!

Watched this movie in theaters and loved it... I have always like Jackie Chan films and Jaden Smith is going to be as good an actor as his dad... This is a definite buy for me

That is exactly why I called those people "haters". People who just hated on the movie without even seeing it.

Evra, Martin is definitely not the god of movie criticism.
If you look at his reviews, you will notice that he actually dislike a good majority 95% (if not 99%) of movies. Therefore, if he likes "this" movie; it says a lot about how good "this" movie is. That's all.

I think it's a pretty good film for the young generation. As for the rest, the original is still the best around. No doubt about it.

So a 2 minute scene where two kids are out having fun dancing can ruin a whole film for u??? Ummm ok! Also what does the ending credits have to do with the film also??? I never said anything about the movie, in fact if you read properly I said I want to see it, I am looking forward to see it because I like Jackie Chan and I enjoy his movies.

My post was about the haters comments. As soon as someone dislike a movie now he is a haters, people are allowed to dislike something without being haters. I hate the words fanboys and haters.

This was one of the rare movies that actually made me walk out of the theaters. The acting was horrid, the soundtrack was unmemorable and the 'jokes' were forced (JACKET OFF!... sigh). It was beautifully shot though.

At least this version won't be remembered or referenced like the original still is. I might give it another go someday. Maybe I just wasn't in the proper mood to enjoy it or something.

I think this movie will be worth watching but I'll rent first. People hate it because its a remake from the classic original, plus people don't like Jaden Smith for some stupid reason, and some people just like to jump to conclusions.
