The UK version is available to pre-order on HDAddicts.com, a Canadian site that specializes in hi-def imports. Anything they carry plays on US and Canadian players. They just confirmed it to me today in an email.

We need someone else to verify this then, because LiesInc shows that The Crow is Region B only.

Well, you don't have to believe me, but it is true indeed. The fact that something says it is region B means nothing. My German version of the Island is also region B, yet it played fine on my player. A friend also lent me a UK version of Crimson Tide (also region B) and that played without a hitch as well.

Talking The Crow

I am an absolute fan of the 1994 film with Brandon Lee and it would definitely be one of my top 5 movies to rebuy on Blu-ray in the US. Though the first film still marks a place for me, I never cared for the sequels...

Since Buena Vista has the rights to the 1994 film on DVD here in the US anyone think we might see a 2008 Blu-ray release here in the states? With Disney's remastering and picture quality track record this would be an AMAZING film to pick up. I know it was released in the UK, but due to region coding America is still having to wait....

Anyone else wanting this movie released like I am?

Definitely. The Crow is an awesome movie, and would be a sweet Blu-ray release.

It's out in the UK I believe. Hopefully we'll see a U.S. release in 2008.

I'd love to see how blu ray would resolve the black levels in that movie. Everything is so dark that I can only imagine how deep the blacks would look. The SD version was always more on the gray-ish side whereas the laserdisc had somewhat of a deeper black. I bet it'd be fantastic on blu ray.

I've always loved that movie. Every time I've watched it I've found some nuance that I didn't notice before. It's so much deeper than a "rock/revenge" movie. If anything it's a hell of a gothic love story. I'd buy it the day it came out.

I heard that they are making a fourth Crow movie. This time hddvd comes back from the dead for revenge against Blu-ray, but instead of a crow, hddvd has an toshiba a2 going around finding all the PS3 owners in an attempt to scratch all the Blu-ray discs therefore bringing down the attach rates.

It's true. I read it on smellytomatoes.com.
