Default HDMI Cable Difficulties

So I started watching American Psycho fine. Stopped it, came back several hours later, and could only get a green screen. Took out the disc, loading nothing, and still got the green screen. Hooked up my component cables and loaded the disc and everything is fine. Tried putting the hdmi cable in my hd player, and this time got half of a green screen half black screen, but same result, no picture. So, any ideas on whether or not the hdmi input on my tv is bad or if I just have a bad cable. I've only had the cable since I got my blu player, so back in August/first of September. Thoughts? More than likely I'm just gonna buy a new cable, but didn't want to waste the time if I knew it was my input that was indeed bad.

What kind of blu-ray player do you have? What kind of TV do you own? Do you have multiple HDMI ports on the TV to try? Have you tried rebooting your blu-ray player? If a new HDMI cable doesn't solve your problem then there might be something wrong with either your blu-ray player or the TV input.

it rarely is a cable issue...not saying its not, but its highly unlikely.

It could be the hdmi port itself, maybe not keeping a firm connection? if you were able to watch fine for a while and then it loses signal, sounds like the HDCP handshake isnt being kept.

Try pushing the cable in firm.

also, you did leave out a whole bunch of helpful info...player? tv? receiever?...etc

Helpful info: BDP S300, Philips LCD 1 HDMI port. I'm heading home tomorrow (live on campus) and I may try out the cable on my Samsung and see if cable or hdmi issue. More than likely it is indeed the input (Components don't cut it for me, need that hdmi)
