Default What is YOUR incredible movie idea?

I know all of you have had that one thought for a great film that would incur such anticipation in you if you knew it was to be made - that would fill your heart with eagerness if you were to see a trailer for it.

Or perhaps there is a book out there that you'd love to see made into a movie.

For me? As a great maritime buff and history buff nothing would make me happier than a film based on the Barbary Wars of the earlier 19th century - pirates vs a fledgling US Navy, heroes like Stephen Decatur and Thomas Jefferson. Say with, Christian Bale or Clive Owen as Decatur. Sea battles between sailing frigates and corsairs? My lord.

And to think Master and Commander spoiled me. ((Cant wait for February 5))

I think if anyone here has developed an "incredible movie idea" to any serious degree, you will not see them posting anything here about it.

Sorry.

Since Frank Miller's stuff is becoming the rage, I'd love to see a Batman: The Dark Knight Returns movie. The comic is basically storyboards for the movie, it wouldn't be that hard. I think Bruce Willis would be a great older Batman. I'd love to see it shot in a sepia color with a splash of color here and there like Sin City, or a blend between Sin City and Sky Captain . . . the contrast would be awesome for the Superman/Batman showdown.

By jove, my board immigrated all by itself. I guess the Movies thread was very repressive and censored its press.

Cool

I'd like to see anything from the Dragonlance or Forgotten Realms series of books made to film, with Peter Jackson at the helm

Dare to dream...

with you 100%.

also I would like to see more about WWI. flyboys is about the only film in a long time to be set in that time.

also a new ghost rider movie would be badass. only making it darker and a little scarier. I was let down by the first movies tone. and general lameness.

TICKS - The Musical

Opening scene - Professor Bill Ding working in his secret lab in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains to create a new rutabaga that when irradiated would grow 100 times it's normal size and thereby end world hunger and also create a natural methane source for the newly released car, Flatulentgo.

Professor Ding, unaware Rusty his trusty old Irish Setter wandered in from the woods and headed straight for the rutabaga that was currently being tested. The switch gets flipped and the lights dim... When the lights come back on he finds Rusty, dead from the exposure. Distraught he takes Rusty out back to bury him, his cell rings and he is distracted for just a moment when Rusty's traveling companion jumps from his back and heads into the Rockies...

The tick begins to grow, not only does this tick begin to grow, but he can SING! Infecting other ticks as he passes them, they all grow, they all can SING! Soon there's a chorus of them with an insatiable desire, not to kill the humans of the world, but to be on Broadway!

Tick trailer - lead tick wearing top hat and cane, singing...
you give me rocky fever
when you kiss me
rocky fever when you hold me tight.
Rocky Fever!
In the morning,
Rocky Fever all through the night

It's sure to be a hit...

I've got one based on an obscure late-70s comic book, but the difference is that this comic book was based on a real person.

Well, my idea is not about a specific movie, persay, but about what I would like to see BD and seamless branching do.

I would like to watch a movie, like a horror for example. Watch some poor sap become decapatated, the girl becomes the hero, etc, movie over. My Player now registers that I have seen this movie 1 time. The next time I watch it, the poor sap avoids decapatation, but say gets hit by a bus, the former girl hero becomes the villian in the end as a twist. Player registers I have seen this movie twice and changes up the story again, up to like 10 varying versions of the same movie.

Yeah, thats my dream.

A movie in which Bush declares war on God and tries to send the troops to heaven and then the troops say, "Houston we have a problem". HA,I feel like a little kid.

I had thought of a horror movie filmed in two ways. One through the eyes of the murderer and one normally (i.e. unsuspecting person getting killed). Then on the BD you can switch back and forth between the two in real time and you can use PiP to see both at the same time (kind of like a rear view mirror- if you are chicken you can see, through the eyes of the murderer, the guy creeping up)
