Arrow Billy Bob Thornton Teases Bad Santa 2

Any interest if they were to make a sequel?

Quote:
Now that Thanksgiving’s nearly out of the way, people are getting down with Christmas. For me Christmas mostly means sitting around watching Christmas movies. At the top of my yearly viewing list? Bad Santa. Since the release of Billy Bob Thornton’s horribly raunchy movie about a drunken, thieving, fat chick screwing department store Santa it’s become something of a Christmas classic, at least among cynical people who like their holidays with a healthy dose of “f**k”. So what about a sequel? Billy Bob Thornton is all for it.

Talking to Collider BBT revealed, ““there’s been talk of making a sequel to it, which I actually would like to do.” He doesn’t offer any information beyond that, and it doesn’t exactly sound like this idea is being fast tracked, but it’s nice to know someone out there is thinking of it.

When last we left Billy Bob’s drunken Willie character, he was locked safely away in jail, after being shot up while escaping from a mall heist to deliver Christmas presents to an unfortunate fat kid. Will he escape and return to his holiday heist ways? Maybe he can use some other beloved holiday figure as a way to obtain ill-gotten gains. Bad Easter Bunny, anyone?

They should make Billy Bob be the evil Easter Bunny, although the church may frown on that.

I really love this movie. The price for this blu ray is still $20 and above.. even during the "discount weekend" lol but I will eventually get it on blu.

I can't wait for a sequel. But it won't be the same without Bernie Mac though.

UGH!

‘Entourage’ Creator Doug Ellin to Rewrite ‘Bad Santa 2′

That Bad Santa sequel we’ve heard about for such a long just got some HBO swagger. Doug Ellin, the creator of Entourage, has signed on to rewrite, and possibly direct Billy Bob Thornton in Bad Santa 2. The actor is hoping to shoot the R-rated Christmas comedy at the end of the year.

Deadline broke the news of Ellin joining the project. Apparently he’s currently rewriting the first version of the script by Johnny Rosenthal and could direct if the schedule works out. The obstacle is that he has yet to hear the status of his Entourage movie, which is written and ready to go once HBO gives the green light. If both projects happened at the same time, you’d imagine Entourage would take precedence, but that’s just speculation.

The pairing of Ellin with this material, the story of an evil man who dresses up as Santa Claus to rob malls, might seem odd on the surface. However, with Entourage, Ellin proved he has a knack of blending adult humor with a light, fun sensibility. Plus he’s made two features, Phat Beach and Kissing a Fool, so he’s not exclusively a TV guy.

According to Deadline’s report, Thornton will start shooting a film called London Fields on September 9 and is hoping Bad Santa 2 will be ready to go once he’s done with that. Worth noting is the actor was hoping the same thing last year when Steve Pink (Hot Tub Time Machine) was possibly directing. Pink is now helming a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine."

Well I used to like Entourage but it turned into garbage the last few season (even though it was nice to see Sasha Grey in mainstream work) .
Bad Santa is one of the best comedies of all time. They need to quit screwing around and get a good script and get this done asap.

I loved the first one, its one of my favorite comedies. I don't think they'd do a sequel justice though.

This is FINALLY picking up some steam and moving Forward:

http://deadline.com/2015/10/bad-sant...es-1201598025/

"Billy Bob Thornton still doesn’t care if you’re naughty or nice. Miramax and Broad Green Pictures said today they are teaming to co-finance and co-produce Bad Santa 2 with the Our Brand Is Crisis co-star reprising his role as mall Santa/curmudgeonly conman Willie Stokes. Broad Green will distribute the sequel to the 2003 holiday dark comedy, which will start principal photography in January in Montreal. Sierra/Affinity will rep international rights at AFM next month.

“Bad Santa has been a part of our family holiday tradition ever since we all saw it together at our neighborhood theater,” Broad Green Pictures CEO Gabriel Hammond and CCO Daniel Hammond said in a statement. “We are excited to bring this memorable character and new chapter back to the big screen.”

The original Bad Santa starred Thornton and Tony Cox as criminals posing as Santa and his elf to knock over department stores on Christmas Eve. But their plans go south as a meddling kid (Brett Kelly) gets under the crooked Kringle’s skin and a security guy (Bernie Mac) gets wise to the caper.

The sequel has been in the works since at least 2012, when Steve Pink was attached to direct for Dimension Films. No word from Miramax or Broad Green on a helmer but the script for Bad Santa 2 was written by Doug Ellin, Shauna Cross, John Phillips and Johnny Rosenthal.

David Thwaites will oversee the project for Miramax and Victor Moyers for Broad Green. Geyer Kosinski is producing. Adam Fields is executive producing."

That's actually a good idea. I mean, what does he do the rest of the year except drink?

Billy Bob is banking on good reviews for Our Brand is Crisis to make a little comeback and Bad Santa 2 or Bad Easter Bunny could draw some financial backing I'd expect.
