Best Blu-Ray to Buy

What is one of the Best Blu-Ray's to buy right now for best picture, and audio quality? (does not have to be new, but the best one, is what im looking for to really show it off to friends).

There are a few new movies that meet the challange: Ratatouille, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

But if you wanna show everyone what Blu-ray can do for an older movie I highly recommend "The Warriors." It is the best I have ever seen any old movie look and proves that it is more than worth it to rebuy old movies on Blu.

Off the top of my head....

Casino Royale, Apocolypto, Cars, Close Encounters, Troy, The Condemned, Bridge To Teribithia, and the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Just to name a few.

saving up to get all 5 harry potters, and all 3 pirates at the same time... ratatouile (sp) is a good movie, may repurchase on blu-ray anything else?

How about the Patriot, SWAT, Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun, etc?

Casino Royale im hesistant about, wasnt one of the best bond movies to me... though troy im really thinking about...

The reviewer on this site gave The Patriot a 5 out of 5 of picture quality. I own it, but have yet to view it to determine if such a score is justified.

Black Hawk Down had excellent PQ...IMO....surprisingly so. I believe Tears of the Sun was pretty decent as well.

I have hairspray, spiderman trilogy, stomp the yard, and cars. Was looking at jr.com and was looking for some really good movies for 9.99 and black, patriot, and tears are on there... thanks for your help, if anyone else wants to chime in please do!

How about Underworld, Stealth, or hostel...

I own Hostel cause I'm a fan and it's nice but it has some dirt and white specks every now and then but other than that its nice, I'd really only recommend getting it if you were a big fan.

The reviewer on this site gave underworld a 4.5 out of 5 for PQ. Once again, this is another title I own...but have yet to check out for myself.

Stealth...however, is NOT a good transfer (or a good movie, for that matter).

If you have an aversion to childish movies: Live Free and Die Hard, awesome pq and highest possible aq in my opinion

I own a PS3 AND a stand alone player (Samsung BD-1400).

If Underworld and The Patriot are both priced 9.99 at the website you were looking at, you should definitely get BOTH. You can do no wrong at that price. We at blu-ray.com like to buy our movies in bulk.

me too , but im a poor college student, with 7 ps3 games, and 6 blu-rays, that's alot of money, when i dont work, and study all day.. lol... thanks for your insights, i think i've chosen the winner, i will get both, but only one today, thanks!

From what i've seen so far Black Hwak Down has to be THE BEST Blu-Ray to show-off u're setup the PQ is awesome and the bullet sounds the music everything
If u like Black Hawk Down then get it if u dont, even then GET IT u wont be dissapointed if u've got a mad setup

Buy "The Patriot"! Great movie and it looks beautiful in Blu. I've owned this in 3 different versions now (SD, SuperBit, and BD) and it keeps getting better. You haven't seen red until you've seen it on the Redcoats here.
