I debuted twice into the blu ray world.

First, this is my first post here. I'm writing from La Paz, Baja california, Mexico. And second, i received from ebay my first titles:

* Terminator 2
* Pearl harbor

And the next week i'll order some more.

I hope i can buy as soon as possible my BR player. Here in Mexico sony is making some good work introducing the Blu Ray system, at least in the biggest cities. Is not cheap for us of course, is expensive, but not so much as if i go to the border and buy it in the US and take it to my city. For example, i live in La Paz, Baja California, but i travel 2 times a month to Guadalajara city. There i can find Blu Ray in almost any major department stores (no walmarts) at around US$22-US$30 each movie. The samsung player is priced from US$1000-$1300. The movie selection is small but growing. Also is available a sony vaio with bluray burner at US$4600. I know all are expensive, but my point is that those prices don't scared to sony to introduce the format here. I hope when the PS3 officially enter the local market will bring even more attention, promotion, movies and of course, bit lower prices.

And what about HD-DVD? well, is practically inexistent. I only saw a laptop with a HD-DVD drive and nothing more. I can say that this laptop lays on a corner of the store and nobody cared, while the attention and the OOHHS and AAAHS were for the vaio the day i visited that dept store (fabricas de francia for the mexicans reading this).

I hope i can aport something interesting to this great & funny bluforum.

I had about 50 dvds, and I sold all of them. Now I'm just waiting for the money, and I will turn around and buy about 8 blu-rays. I still have a crappy 28" SD tv, but I'm saving every penny for a brand new sony.

My new 32 inch bravia comes in tomorrow around noon. I am extremely excited to run up to sony store and pick it up and experience blu-rays for the first time. Because of a problem with shipping and taking a couple days longer then expected, the great guys at sony store offered to give me some nice discounts on blu-rays. I know they don't have much there but I figure I'll just pick whatever up then go exchange them at walmart

Right now I'm thinking I'm gonna go with Crank (heard so much about it and should be good to show it off) and Goodfellas (favorite movie)
