Default Aliens/Predator

With the new aliens/predator movie coming out you would hope that fox would be hard at work with Alien, Aliens and predator out on blu-ray

Excellent. Glad to hear you say that Wicky. I'm so psyched for next year's titles. It's going to be an amazing and HD pivitol year for our format.

Default R rated

I'm glad that the new Alien VS Predator is going to be R rated unlike the last one that was rated P3-13.

Same here. The trailer show some extreme violence and given the subject matter, I feel its appropriate 100%!

Requiem looks like it may be the movie AvP should have been. The trailer has kids getting facehuggered, a woman pinned to the wall by some giant predator weapon, violence galore.

Lovely lovely violence, exactly what the first one lacked. Not including lack of a compelling story.

How many months do you suppose it will take to get released on BD after the theatrical run? Which month in 08 in otherwords?

That would be great. Especially if they align it with the release of the other Alien movies for blu. I'll bet Fox has a ton of great titles they are working on but keeping the anouncments mum for now...

Anybody been to BestBuy lately? I think it was last week or week before, WB released all Aliens and Predator movies in a box with a pred battling an alien in it for 149.99, i cant believe they didnt release it in blu instead of std version, from what i can tell, all 4 boxes that were there when i first saw them few weeks ago are still there in the display........ lol

I'm certainly hoping for Alien (Ridley Scott) on BD. Hopefully as a catalogue item it will be all regions, or they bring out a region B at the same time.

Looking forward to AVP2 some time also.

I'm dying for Alien and Aliens (and I'd even take Alien 3), but I'll never, ever spend a dime on AVP. The first one made me want to put my head through a window, and this one looks even worse IMO. Alien/Predator hybrids? Didn't see that one coming...

The PQ on AVP-1 wasn't great. However the AVC trailer of AVP-1 in Fantastic Four - 2 Blu-ray was awesome with bit rates touching 40 Mpbs many times. I hope that Fox doesn't a re-encode for AVP-1 and release it along with AVP-2.

Talking was'nt it R rated initially?

I have read on some front's on the net that avp-1 had a lot of violence in it and was rated a R initially prior to it's theatre release. Fox then decided to cut the voilence out so it would appeal to the wider public. The question being, if this is true, would the uncut version of this movie make the movie any better and would it be re-released with avp-2 on blu-ray?

The already released a director's cut on Blu, and no, nothing can make the first one (and I'll be money the second one) anything someone woudl describe as "better"
