ps3 seem loud? - Blu-ray Forum

so, i had noticed my ps3 was running real loud lately. i knew that the unit had a bunch of dust around and just seemed to get louder / fan kick into high gear much more quickly than before. so, took some canned air and blew it out. i haven't even heard it since i turned it on and am watching movies.

give it a shot if it's running a bit too loud for ya.

Ah, good old canned air.

Thanks for the tip; I use it on all my electronics but I've never had my PS3 run loud. Maybe I'll throw some air its way anyhow.

Yeah, I gotta find some, my 360 is getting REAL louder...live even more so than usual and i have a feeling its a dustopia inside there. Gotta get some for the ps3 as well.

ill be honest. little hammered right now, but just came home and the roommate and i were blasting the NIN beside you in time album and i didn't hear the ps3 kick up a notch. granted, we prob woke the neighbors with the volume level, but i didn't see it kick into overdrive like it has in the recent past

I have my PS3 in the room outside the theater (thanks to IR repeaters and such.) SO,.. I have no idea if it's ever been kicking into high gear or if it's constantly in high gear.

I've had it for more then a year and use it a lot. I took it out of the rack and cleaned it once and it was pretty crusty with dust.

So... I'm going to go clean it again.
