Default UPDATE! Sony getting aggressive with their Blu-ray marketing.

So anyone who lives in Southern California knows that the 405 freeway is one of the most, if not the most, congested freeway. So imagine my delight today when stuck in traffic I see on the side of a building a huge, and I mean HUGE banner that says "THE FUTURE IS BLU" complete with a Blu-ray logo and a Playstation 3.

This banner must of been at least 6-7 stories in height and the best part is it's in your face visible from the freeway. Stuck in traffic with a Blu-ray logo drilled into your head. Good job Sony!

For anyone who lives in Los Angeles, this is located northbound on the 405 freeway right before the 405 meets the 10 freeway by Culver City!

At our sporting events in Vancouver over 20,000 people get to see ps3 ads on a giant display as well as electronic banners circling the arena. They also have several ps3 on display to play in the hallways. I"ve definetly been seeing more ps3 ads then any other system during the holiday season.

They better get aggressive. I'm glad you have 1 example because I still think they are weak at making the blu-ray to PS3 connection. I've seen many recent "attempts" at Sony marketing but all failed miserably at making it clear the PS3 works as a blu-ray movie player.

In fact, the ad they have in the most recent Game Informer is awful. They have a full page Sony blu-ray ad which lists Sony movie releases and a standalone blu-ray player... no PS3 in the ad at all. By putting this in a gaming mag, it basically says that PS3 is a game console and does NOT play BD movies. Ad was awful.
