OK I have the Vizio 32" VW32L.Well for the longest time I thought it only supported 1080i. I was messing around with my PS3 and I went in to the Video output settings and clicked custom,it then notified me that my TV supports 1080p.I made the appropriate settings and then popped in a movie and sure enough when I pushed the display button on my TV remote it shows 1080p on the screen. The thing that gets me is that I can't find anything in the book saying this TV supports 1080p

...since the pixel count is 1366 X 768, your TV is definitely not 1080p.
However it seems it will accept the 1080p signal, which is then converted into that 1366 X 768. It is odd that 1080p is not even stated on Vizio's webite as a supported resolution. "All TV formats supported (1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i)" Last edited by crackinhedz; 12-17-2007 at 03:21 AM. |

I believe this is a 720P display that will support 1080i
Most of the specs I see state 720P (supports 1080I) "Brilliant specifications including 1366x768 resolution, integrated HDTV and standard definition TV tuner, all supporting the newest 1080i TV format! " on Vizio's site |

Go in to your PS3 Settings/display settings/Video Output Settings and after you select HDMI in the next screen select custom and then check 1080p it should work for you.Maybe it's the placebo effect but I could swear by doing this my colors are brighter and the picture is sharper.I have switched from 1080i to 1080p 3 times now and I can honestly tell a difference.I understand I am not getting the full 1080p experience but I can tell a difference between the two settings

Is there any benefit to playing a Blu-Ray signal into a standard (Sony XBR) TV? Is it even compatible?
