pretty cool thing happened tonight - Blu-ray Forum

hey all,

the wife and I went to my christmas party at my work like we do every year. My company goes out and buys a bunch of gifts to give away in a raffel drawing. they got to places like BB, CC Walmart & bj's and pick up gifts. i saw on the gift table a sony s301 BD player and i was excited thinking maybe i had a chance to win it since i dont have a BD player yet. (was saving to buy the new panny 30) anyways all the gift were given away and they were down to the grand prize gift which was a vizio 42" LCD 720p flat panel TV and guess what??? you got it, my name was called and i won it

. i could not believe it. i even said at the table we were at right before they anounced the name " this one is for me and i said my name out loud and 2 seconds after that they called my name. the employees at my tv could not believe, even my wife was shocked.

so now i won this tv and this other friend of mine won the sony bd player, well he does not have a hd tv and i said i would trade the tv for the sony BD player and some cash. i looked up the vizio and it goes for $1000 prety much every where, so what to do now. i was thinking of maybe returning it to CC were they sell these and getting a store credit and getting a bd player and new hdmi receiver, what do you think? do you think anyone would be interested in buying this tv from me on this forum? or should i do the swap tv for the sony bd player & say like $500 cash? any idea's?

anyways i thought i would share my excitement

they were giving out HDTV's at my wifes christmas party...guess what we came home with?!! $25 gift card to Lands End.

Panasonic and a Harman Kardon would also be sweet. Either way you get the blu-player

not big on Harman Kardon, would rather pioneer elite or onkyo or even denon for a good price. anyways i got to find out if CC will take the return without a receipt and what they will give me for it. i know they usually give you the last sale price with no receipt. so wish me luck

got to find out today that the tv i won on saturday at my christmas party was purchased at sam's club and it is priced at $897 there. i am not a member, but got to go in and look around. i dont see much there to buy, only sony BD301s. so i think i may try and return it to CC for a store credit. i want to get a BD player and new receiver if possible. CC has it at $999, but will probably give me the lowest sale price for a refund gift card. anyways i thought i would let you know.

It would be nice to trade it for the BD player... maybe ask for a little money so you can buy some BD movies with it. But don't over price it cause they won't buy that. Let them get it cheap.. it is the holidays afterall.

I'd trade him for the bd player and then take the cash and buy an onkyo 805. They are going for something like $650 on amazon last time I checked.
