I like DVDEmpire since they ship guaranteed same day and preorders out on Friday. Prices are comparable to other online sites (usually 25-30% off MSRP)

I have Amazon Prime and their 10% off promotion, so I'll be getting all my Blu-ray discs from them until (at least) 2008.

They have to add each title to the promotion individually. If you ask them to add it, they will. Also, if you order it before they add the title, they will refund the difference after the purchase. I have asked them to add SOTL.

Default DeepDiscount

I use deepdiscountdvd. They have some cheaper prices and they always ship free no matter how many you order. I pre-ordered Talladega Nights for $14.47 and shipped free. Was probably a mistake but I got it!

Zvi,

Last time I checked, they were offering the discount anymore, at least they don't have it advertised on their website. Regardless, you really can't beat Amazon prices or shipping. If I really wanted to invest my time, I could find this movie here, and another there, for cheaper. But all around, Amazon has the best average prices with great shipping.

Buy @ amazon.com to drive the sales rank lower.

Based on this thread, I just went to DVD empire.... WTF?

They have a little tally in the corner of the screen called "DVD wars" listing 16 studios for HD-DVD, and only 15 for BD??? HUH???

I'm doing the math, and if they have a single proprietrary studio, and we have three, does that not mean the BD has more??? That is, unless they are counting porn studios in their camp

I too use and like deepdiscount. one word of caution though: the free shipping they offer is free because they send it pony express. a good deal if you're in no rush for your merchandise

I use deep discount too (seriously thinking about changing) I ordered 3 discs last Saturday the 6th... and I paid for the "expedited shipping"... it didn't ship till Tuesday, and even then, the email I got with a tracking number doesn't track anything... I called to ask about tracking, and I was politely told that they often have issues with tracking numbers from the USPS not working.

To add insult... underworld was backordered, it shipped 2 days later on thursday, but because it missed the ship date where I had paid extra for expedited shipping for the other two discs, its coming pony express... GRRRRRR

All about the Deep Discount. I only order twice a year though. I'm a patient guy, and money means more then having the product in hand quicket to me. But I normally hit them up in November and August during the 20% off sale for DVDs.

Now I'll do the same for Blu-Ray!

We are not desperate like HD-DVD fans who buy a copy of Batman Begins every day and give as a gift to someone they know!

I usually use DeepDiscount for lowest prices.

Sales on the other hand, seem to go well at Amazon.

All of my BRDs have come from Amazon (aside from the 2 I got at BestBuy this weekend).

Of course when I say 'all of', that only means around 10 of them.

I can definitely say I will be buying from both Amazon and DeepDicsount in the future.

You have to purchase 3 Blu-ray or HD DVD discs in a single purchase, or a player and you get 10% off all your Blu-ray or HD DVD purchases for a year.

I get all mine through Half.com, either Brand new or Used.

Many of them are listed at half or below half retail.

Default As we started with dvdempire ....

has anybody else noticed that quite a few BD discs are marked as "Region All"?

More specifically has anybody (outside of Region A) tried one in their (non-Region A) player ?

I am based in Sydney, Australia and would like slightly more choice than we get here in Region B.

BTW Sorry to hijack the thread it was the only one nearly relevant to dvdempire !!

BTW2 If you're in the UK buying BD play.com (free delivery for Europe) or amazon.co.uk have the largest collection - for Region B.

Cheers
