Great find, Nelson! And good to see Michael Bay vindicated in his recent statements, as well.

Let's see Bill Gates try and say this isn't true or Amir or rdjam defend this, as Sony is the evil corporation. Even if he was off Michael was right and this just proves it.

I thought Michael Bay was a liar. He didn't know what he was talking about. Internet fan boys knew better. Where did Microsoft ever admit to paying off Paramount.

Unless HD-DVD dies a quick death, do not expect to see Paramount back to Blu after the 18 months is up.

I don't mean to be a d!ck, but at the end of the day, talk is cheap. My question is if Michael Bay is aware of this, what can he do to get his films released on Blu-Ray. That is the end-goal. Otherwise, it means nothing. Thankfully, most of his movies are at Sony and Disney/Buena Vista so BD releases of those are inevitable.

Toshiba wanted to be part of Blu-ray from the start. But M$ pressured them to stick with HD-DVD due to the amount of time invested into HDi.

That's Rough Notes article is a good read. Poor Toshiba... strong armed by the 800 lbs MS Gorilla.

this could be a very good sign actually. MS is using money to support downloads over HD DVD. It appears as if they might be thinking hd dvd is going down hill fast and they should abandon ship and start signing studios to do downloads to compete with blu-ray. i mean, if hd dvd goes down and ms doesn't have a decent download service in place, blu-ray is going to take massive amounts of market share, and their precious downloads will never be able to catch up.

That could certainly be the case.

On the other hand, I see the potential where they could keep Paramount away from Blu-ray for a very, very long time. For all we know, they could ending up having Paramount as "download" exclusive while paying Paramount for these missed profits and then some they would have gotten on BD. We all know Bill Gates has no problem spending hundreds of millions out of personal spite or to get back at someone.

You'd think these two companies were based in Nevada where prostitution is legal.
