Default Viacom and Microsoft - A marriage now consummated.

http://www.usatoday.com/tech/techinv...tent-ads_N.htm

Viacom, Microsoft sign advertising, content deal
NEW YORK (Reuters) —

Viacom (VIA) said Wednesday that it has selected Microsoft (MSFT) as its Internet advertising partner in a five-year agreement that involves online games, shows and movies.

Microsoft will help Viacom place advertising on Viacom's U.S. websites and be the exclusive seller of its remnant display advertising, or ad space Viacom has been unable to sell.

As part of the deal, Microsoft will also license on a non-exclusive basis long and short-form television and movies from Viacom for the MSN portal and the Xbox 360 game system's online network.

Microsoft has also agreed to buy ads on Viacom's broadcast and online networks over five years and help Viacom establish itself as a publishing partner on Microsoft's casual Internet gaming sites.

Microsoft, based in Redmond, Wash., has tried to make inroads against Google and Yahoo's online advertising business over the past year as each company raced to buy new advertising businesses.

This is a non-exclusive agreement, meaning Parmount can create other partnerships with other companies.

Paramount would have it no other way. She's a free-spirit and ready to jump into bed with any sailor that give's her the attention 'she deserves'.

Anyone who said MS didn't have a big hand in that Paramount deal going exclusive to HD-DVD was in denial. I thought it was funny how MS claimed they had nothing to do with the deal but now we see the fruits of their labor.

Anyway, Paramount really disgusts me.

SSSUUUREE they can. Lets see who is next in line to pay them 500 mil for anything else like this. Im not saying your wrong, but if I gave you a billion dollars to eat at my restaurant I bet you would eat there ALOT and I doubt others would give you the same deal.

These two companies have been steadily moving down my opinion list anyway. This will only help that to happen more quickly.

The good news is that there is not much I will miss about buying M$ products or MTV/Paramount. CBS is awful (however that ownership is connected now).

I may miss Dreamworks (for kids titles) a little, but I'll probably be spending my entertainment money & time elsewhere.

Yes we will. The deal will not impact future releases on Blu, Paramount will go where the money is and in time that will be blu-ray.

Microsoft is screwing Viacom, and Viacom/Paramount are screwing the consumer.
