I tried to watch "Remains of the day" and "Chariots of Fire" and slipped into a coma both times. Be very careful with those two movies. There is no garauntee you will ever come around again.

To each his own, I guess.

Now that I think about it, thats another series of movies I cant get into, Cheesy horror movies.

Nightmare on Elm Street movies, Friday the 13th movies, Halloween, Leprechaun, Childs play, etc...
It isn't my fault I hate Star Wars and it's not my FAULT that horror movies scares you. That is exactly why you dont like them, they scare you and you are afraid to watch them. We all have our opinions and you probably didnt watch all the horror movies I posted and I sure didnt watch all the star wars because I fell a sleep on the ones I did watch. Also thats about 50 different sitting times. Just my thought.

See these kinda comments I don't understand. Transformers is/was and based on a cartoon.

But hey, that's what this thread is all about. Movies you just could not get into even if its the origins of the movie that causes you not to like the movie.
Yes, I realize that, let me see how to explain. I knew going in that it isn't the kind of movie that I would normally enjoy but I went anyways with a group of friends. Maybe after the first 15 or 20 minutes, I thought to myself, "hmm, this really isn't so bad." It just started off being better then I thought and then turned into what I was expecting.

As far as About Schmidt, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Out of curiosity, what are other movies of substance to you?
No problem, quite a few of the people who told me to see Transformers would rebut my dislike of it w/ Megan Fox, so I thought this was more of the same. I like About Schmidt, I just remember someone saying that movie has balls because of the Kathy Bates jacuzzi scene.

Movies w/ substance, well I think Christopher Nolan's movies have it. No Country for Old Men I thought was excellent. Quite a bit of the time it seems to be that movies the masses don't really like are the ones I like. One such case is Signs. My step-mom said she thought it was a horrible "alien movie," and I tried, unsuccessfully, to tell her that the main message was that things happen for a reason and are not coincidence.

Dude you dont have to watch Harry potter at all! I don't! Ive given it a try, but I thought it was dumb. I even fell asleep during the LOTR esp. Twin Towers. I'll admit that the last battle scene in return of the king was awesome. You dont have to buy Blu-rays that you don't like just to support the cause!

I'd rather watch "Psychological Symbolism and Repetitive Consumerist Subliminal Message Strategy in Shrek the Third's Conversational Interactions" than Harry Potter.

Ooooo, I just pissed off a whole herd of people.

Is Failure to Launch on BLU? Don't think I'd make it through that one.

Wow...look what I have started?

Do you all realize that if the people on this thread are all sitting in a movie theater and had a choice of 1 movie to watch, it might get bloody in that theater? I don't think we would ever agree!

Jdc115; thanks for explanation on Transformers. I got it now.

Not if we chose Ultraviolet! We'd all have a great time!

I perused this thread looking for just one person to say something specific, and no one has said it, so thankfully many of you have good taste in film.

The Fountain is not for everyone but I liked it.

I couldn't sit through Rocky and Bullwinkle.

i just tried to watch War. first off where was the action? I rented that and Shoot Em' Up (Which was great) to just have a fun night. I don't care about any back story crap! and Jet Lee (or is it Li?) sounded like a girl on crack. I didn't understand a thing he said! also I couldn't suffer through the random camera angles.

I saw it on standard DVD. Thankfully I hadn't bought it on Blu-Ray.
I don't mind slower paced movies, with emphasis on story/character development...etc. I don't have to have guns blazing, building exploding and car chases in every film I watch.
Even so, I thought The Fountain was incredibly boring. I never plan to watch it again..ever. There are just too many other choices, and not enough time.

the Fountain is one of the few blind purchases that I made as I really loved Requiem for a Dream from the same director. I have not watched it yet, hopefully I will find something else about it to pull me in.

Ha! I have a funny story on this one. I borrowed Crank from a friend. I wasn't crazy about it, I thought it was kinda lackluster and dumb. Well, I told my son that I borrowed the flick and asked if he wanted to watch it. He said, "Dad, don't you remember? We went to the movies a couple of months ago and saw Crank (he is the assistant manager at our theater in the mall). Well blow me down! I had completely forgotten that I even seen that movie and we are talking only about 3 months between viewings. I know I am getting older (53), but come on! That movie had no impact on me. I can say for sure that I will not get Crank on Blu. I kinda wish it was an HD-DVD title, then the laugh would be on them.
