Default Is This TV Good For Blu-Ray???

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1162593226223

I wanted a flat screen but the 1080p flat screens are way too much money so i decided to buy this one wich i will be getting in 3 weeks.

Will a 1080p rear projection have the same picture quality as a 1080p flat screen.

Looks like a good TV for the price. I like Sony SXRD better then DLP’s. Still this is a good 1080P set. If you already ordered it then I hope you will enjoy it.

Sorry forgot to answer your other question. Rear projectors have better picture quality then most LCD and Plasma dispalys. JVC in Feb is coming out with a rear projector LCOS that is thin and hangs on the wall.

I just skimmed threw the manual online for the set your buying. The good thing is this Samsung 1080P has a 1080P/60 input which some sets don’t have. This set has a ATSC Digital tuner for HDTV but no QAM feature. What that means is that you will either need to connect a outdoor/indoor ant to get your HDTV local channels or you are going to need to use a Digital Cable or Satellite box to receive HDTV channels.

Be sure to check out the prices for that model # at Amazon. It comes with free delivery and is cheaper than BB. I think the 56 inch model is the same price as BB's 50 inch model. Maybe mention it to BB and see if they will work a deal with you...dunno.

I have the 56 inch version. The price dropped over 600 dollars in 6 months. The antenna is not a big deal IMO. I have digital cable anyway.

The bad part about the DLP set is the bulbs will burn out every couple of years. It will cost 200 dollars for a replacement. The set is very light at around 50 pounds. It sits about a foot from the wall.

Newer Samsungs are going to have HDMI 1.3. (Or maybe it is out there now?) There is a great thread dedicated to this model at AVS. It will likely take you several days to read the whole thread. It is huge.

The set is great for HD IMO. Some people complain about a screen door effect or rainbow effect with DLP sets. The older sets were much worse from what I read. I recommend seeing the TV in the store prior to purchase. I haven't see any problems as long as I sit at the minimum recommended distance. When you go into the store stand at the proper distance. Walk side to side in front of the set. The picture has about a 110 degree viewing angle.

I watched Kung Fu Hustle tonight on it and it was fantastic.
